My Baby is One Her Way to Becoming a Mommy

It's 6:30 in the morning here and an hour ago, my son-in-law called from the car to tell me that they are on their way to the birthing center (a 40-minute drive from their home). They should be there by now.

All I can think of is "I don't want my baby to be in pain."

So all I can do now is wait for the next phone call - gees! that can be hours and hours from now - that tells me to get in my car and come visit my new little grand-daughter. And today is the day that Obama lands here so I hope that it works out so I won't get caught up in traffic as I would be driving past the airport road to get to the birthing center. I think I should take my shower now so I have time to dry my hair and all that in case she is faster than a speeding bullet.

I hate note being able to do anything but wait. And I love what I am waiting for. All you grandparents out there know exactly what I'm going through, right?

OOPS - didn't realize I was still in the newbie section - thought I was posting in the chatterbox section. But you will all see this, right?

It's great when they are born, but it is so much better when they say Granma or Grandad or Hiya! -  It's good to be recognized.

Nice to see you guys here. I'm still waiting. Can't think, just hoping it goes easy for her. So I'm sitting here making zazzle products to while away the time till they tell me it's over and I can come visit.

How wonderful, Sheri! Your daughter is taking part in the greatest athletic event of her life, and little granddaughters are so precious! Remember this day so you can tell her stories about it later.

And ironically...my stepdaughter (Jim's daughter) is 4cm dilated right now, too! So we are awaiting the stork here as well! Here's to healthy, happy babies and mommies...

At least frugal knows as of 2 hours ago what the situation was. My kids are keeping us in the dark.  They said we have to sit tight and they will let us know when it's all over.

In the meantime for the past hour I have been having terrible (recognizable) cramps in my belly area and my back is killing me.  It's either something I ate or sitting here all day putting together zazzle products since I can't do anything else with myself, or I have become telepathic.

They do say that a mother has such a bound with her daughter.  That's one way of sharing the experience!  Though perhaps not the best way for you. <3

There is now a new little girl in the world. I don't have details yet but it was a long and difficult delivery. All three are doing fine - just exhausted.  Can't wait to see my little girl. But looks like it will wait till morning. They want to sleep.
