Should we have one, at all?

If yes...

A cuddly, cute animal? What kind?

A human character?

A mysterious character?

Others?

If not...

Perhaps a graphic logo?

A symbol? Symbol for what?

What else?

It's not a super-top priority, but we're very interested in your opinion.

You fabulous Wizzlers, you.

If yes how about a Wizzardly Person with a Pen as a Wand Laughing

I don't think it is a necessity, but I'd prefer something not too cutesy. I like Paul's wizzard idea. Or you could play off the idea that a "whiz" is an expert at something.

all I could think of was "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down."   lol

but the wizard idea does sound good.  a wizard with a pen or a keyboard.

Whiz Writers?   dunno.  but i like the idea of a mascot - just for fun.....

Ah Paul I love it! As Edward Bulwer-Lytton once wrote..."the pen is mightier than the sword".

I do think we need some sort of logo that emotes the feeling of  writers, authors, or some such. A cute cuddly animal wouldn't accomplish that as much as I like cute and cuddly critters.

I'd seen a wizzard when I first heard then name (after getting over the wizzing images.)

The magical pen would go along with the current banner logo.

Just curious - how many people are writing with pens?

You could have a wizzard madly writing away on a computer or laptop (somehow)  with stars sparking out from what he/she is writing.

Might need to have two - male and female - or a one gender neutral wizzard.

First thing I thought of was a Wizard sitting at a desk writing.

Or, rather than a person, a wizard's hat crossed with a quill feather pen trailing ink. The ink could say "wizzle wizzle toil and drizzle." LOL - just kidding on that last part!

I think the Wizard idea is great. And kinda cute and memorable too!

Wizzley the wizard, pen in  hand sounds good.

I don't think we need one at all, but I'm okay with a wizard theme as long as we don't start extending the theme into overtly witchy-poo, dark magic, casting spells type of stuff.

Another vote for the wizard, in whatever form. Tademonimom's suggestion sounds like it could look good -- I'm all for keeping it simple and stylish! Kind of like the owl idea too though.

I agree with Jimmie, I don't think we need one right now.  I do like the wizard theme, I would make it simple, something like a Wand waving over an Ipad (to keep it computer based).

I agree with Jimmie.  I like Paul's idea, but definitely nothing with a "casting spells" look.  Maybe a cute wizard who trades in his wand for a keyboard.

Thanks so much for all your thoughts. We'll take everything into consideration.

We can't get too complex with a design. It needs to be clearly recognizable in our narrow header bar, next to "Wizzley".

What do you think about the "magic pen" in our banners?

I quite like it, and think it would be a great mascot! It conveys the idea of writing with a little bit of magical "wizzardry" thrown in.

What do you think about the "magic pen" in our banners?

Like it! That's the kind of "magic" we can all agree on -- we produce it through our writing.

I like the wizard's hat with the current star struck pen. It can be both male or female, like the hogwarts.

I like the idea of including a pen or something along those lines. I have a busy friend who is constantly telling me how much she thinks I love octopi and squid cartoons because she sees my Squidoo announcements here and there. I'm baffled but then I remember what she's thinking of! :-)
