Chef - I like your train of thought! I started my own religion but nobody joined. It's called HumaGaia - an amalgam of Humanism and the Gaia hypothesis. I like your take on Wizzley as a religion - except the hell bit - I hate any stick wielded by evangelists. As a user of words what other religion would I need - but does it need to be monotheistic? Quill, pen, biro & keypad could all be theistic eminences: they all 'live' until nobody worships or remembers them. For those not used to my humour - this is all tongue in cheek (just so theists don't get the wrong idea). Https://chazfox.com/

Simply replace the word "hell" with the name of any online platform other than Wizzley. Worship any writing device (including your finger tips). Take your tongue out of your cheek and stuff the empty space with some delicious beef tongue. Say "Amen". (Which, due to the beef tongue in your cheek, may sound like "Umm".) Ok, I'm convinced. *chucks out Wicca and joins the Wizzleyans* I'm not writing a load of new articles about it though, even if you do create a Wizzleyan category!
Edit: Erk! Just noted the bit about beef tongue. I'm only joining your religion if I can have a vegetarian option tongue in cheek. > : ( My stuff: A Writer's Guide to Wizzley | Beautiful Britain!

Vegetarians MUST chew on vegan leprechauns, 3 times a day, no swallowing allowed. (Use one of the readily-available Wizzleyan spittoons.) Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

A quote from the awesome (deceased) comedian Bill Hicks has to find its home in this thread...just love the guy...now that would have been a fine president... “The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people.” Bill Hicks In 2009 we sold everything and hit the road! Follow us on our blog at Cheap RV Living

OK I'll join the Wizzlians, as long as I don't have to chew a leprechaun. I'm not vegetarian anymore... And Frugal - now you're just scaring me.... Lana or LIl aka Ragtimelil RagtimeLil's Store on Weebly

Ragtimelil: 11. Jul 2012, 16:42 Haha... Sorry for the scare...but I do admire Hicks and believe this universe is more amazing than we'll ever know while we're here...that it is, indeed, a ride (btw, not into organized anything but do believe 100% there is a crazy something else) In 2009 we sold everything and hit the road! Hey, in 70 to 100 years time some of our ancestors might have a story told to them about a wise man that brought 'The Word'. 'The Word' is the construct of 'Alphabet', the enabler of written communication. 'The Word' is powerful. It enthuses some and inveigles others to become disciples. The disciples go forth into 'The World' and preach the teachings of the wise man, and of the power of 'The Word', should others not believe. 'The World' is split asunder. It is just 'L' within 'The World' of 'The Word'. Millions die arguing whether 'The Word' is the true essence of human life (communication). Many years after 'The Word' was set loose on humanity (perhaps 2000 years hence), some wonder whether it is time for a wise man to appear (perhaps the original wise man, but in another guise), to reiterate the power of 'Alphabet' to organize 'The Word' and bring the heretics into line. And a wise man appears. He iterates a new 'Way'. And the cycle of death and life revolves around this new 'Way'. The moral of this story: Beware the wise man, for he utters that which a wise man would keep to himself. Especially if 'Alphabet' had told him the future that the omnipotent one had seen. I shall not be joining the Wizzleyans, for history tells me not to listen to the wise man (or his disciples). All too often wise words are taken out of context and manipulated to suit those that preach them. Man generates the words and man degenerates them also. Https://chazfox.com/

Can we make Bill Hicks an honourary prophet in the Wizzlian/Wizzleyan religion?

JoHarrington: 12. Jul 2012, 08:51 Too funny... This crazy world is interesting, isn't it? No matter how much we fight it (and Jim and I really try)...no matter how much we want to be unique, unconventional or defy following the herd, we still end up in "groups"...they just have different labels like "non-herd followers." I think all that really matters is our personal experience and following our own path during this "ride" - and keeping our eyes and mind open so we don't miss the excitement. I am always cautious, however, of anyone who tells me they've got it all figured out...that would be impossible...and not very much fun... In 2009 we sold everything and hit the road! We just watched his documentary for the second time last week...plus tons of his live shows we have on our computer...AGAIN. Never grow tired of watching his old performances. He died so young...and I selfishly have a temper tantrum inside, knowing how much more he could have shared with the world. People like Hicks always help us keep feeling "sane" like "we're not the only ones who see the world this way? Whew!"

The quality of what you have to say should matter more than whether or not we agree with it. |

JSheaForrest: 13. Jul 2012, 17:09 I think both have to be covered, the quality of writing and arguments for (and against) regarding the content. Take, completely out of topic, Erich van Daeniken for example, his writing style is very good and engaging, the scientific evidence for his claims far less so. Unfortunately a good writing style can cover up for a lot of flaws in the content and, also unfortunately, a bad writing style can make valuable content seem less so. SY |
