Twitter Experiment

I came across an interesting article in SEOmoz, which claimed that if an URL was tweeted enough, it rose in the SERPs rankings. Here's the article, which goes into some detail:

Anyway - I was wondering if people would like to participate in a little experiment.

We each post one wizzley page that we would like tweeted, and then everyone tweets all the pages posted in this thread, to see if it makes any difference.  The idea being that each page gets as many tweets as we can manage so that it features on Topsy.

Any takers?

Hi Rose, I haven't read the article yet, but I already tweet all of my own articles along with some other people's articles, and I am sure others here do the same.  So I am not sure how to conduct this experiment cleanly.

Although tweeting does bring in real people.

Hi - according to that article it is the number of tweets that counts. The more tweets for a url the more likely it will show up at the top of topsy and G will regard it as an authority.

How to do it cleanly - well everyone could post the url of the wizzle they want everyone else to tweet. Then simply go through the list and tweet everyone else's wizzle. So everyone tweets everyone else's pages. So if six people participate, you should get five tweets to your page (not counting yourself).

As to whether it works - have no idea, hence the experiment! But I thought now would be a good time to try it as the last rush of Christmas sales will be happening this week - I think Amazon have said you need to order by 15th to get the free shipping. So this might be a quick way to move pages up if we all work as a team.
