The winter doldrums won't get you down when you brighten up your kitchen with these whimsical and romantic heart placements.

Heart placemats are a no brainer when it comes to February tableware. They are bright and pick up our spirits during the darkest month. They add a touch of romance to the kitchen and they are very pretty. Heart decor isn't just for February either. Many people love hearts and collect all types of heart decorations and decor.

Heart designs often incorporate the American flag. It's a wonderful way for people to say they love the United States of America. Primitive artists often incorporate this symbol in many of their designs. The heart placemats are often used on the Fourth of July.

So you can either go sweetly romantic or boldly patriotic with your heart placemats.

Happy Valentines Day Placemat

Personalized Placemats are a perfect Valentine's Gift

There is not doubt that this is a Happy Valentine's Day Vinyl placemat. I know that people would assume that this would be a kid's placemat. I say nonsense to that. I mean wouldn't you smile if you woke up on Valentine's Day and this personalized placemat was waiting for you? I would give my husband many husband points for coming up with that little touch of whimsical romance.

Patchwork Heart Placemats

Year-Round Heart Pattern

Hearts are appropriate design details throughout the year, but they seem to come into their own in February. While these placemats feature two hearts, the color scheme makes them appropriate for the entire year. Stripes and polka dots keep it from being too sentimental or feminine as well. Use pink candles and they placemat will become more feminine. Add  gray salt and pepper shakers and the become more sophisticated.

Red Felt Heart Placemat

Festive Felt Placemat

I love this open red heart design. I think it's perfect for year round use. If you love heart designs and collect hearts. You'll love displaying this in your home. The pattern is the perfect combination of white and red hearts. The heart sizes vary which make it much more interesting to look at.

Sophisticated Polka Dot Placemat with Heart

Black and White Polka Dots with Red Heart and Trim
TAYLOR AND COULTAS Black White Polka Dot Red Love Placemat

This is a sophisticated and romantic heart placemat. You can use it any time you want to celebrate a special dinner with your husband or wife. I love the placement of the little heart in the right-hand corner. It gets even better with the word Love written across it. I would pair this with bold red salt and pepper shakers. If are hearts fine, if not that's okay too.

Primitive Heart Placemats

Rustic Hearts for Your Table
Patch Magic 19-Inch by 13-Inch Primitive Hearts Place Mat

I live in a 19th Century farmhouse along the coast of Maine. I could use these primitive heart placemats every day of the year. Primitive crafters come up with the best designs to use bits of scrap. You can see here how the hearts and heart backgrounds are all different cloth scraps. The he border and edging. I remember my grandmother and great grandmother making things with scraps. They had boxes that they use to neatly store everything. On snowy days they would go through them and decide what they could make.

Patriotic Heart Placemat

Wow them at Your Fourth of July Cookout

This starburst patriotic heart placemat will make any Fourth of July table pop. Two hearts are layered in the center and then a starburst of white hearts on red and pink stripes makes a very effective design. So as you can see here heart lovers can use this design 12 months a year and never get bored.

The first one would be great for my 3 year old grandson -- I've been wondering what to send him for Valentine's Day! For myself, I like the "Primitive Heart" placement.
