Hot Air Ballooning and Balloon Festivals in New Jersey

The Warren County Balloon Festival and QuickChek Balloon Festival are both in New Jersey, and there are other opportunities for hot air ballooning in the State.

If you live near or don't mind traveling to New Jersey in the United States, you don't have to travel to Albuquerque, NM to attend a great balloon festival. We have excellent Balloon Festivals right here in New Jersey.

Our family has attended both the QuickChek Festival of Ballooning and the Warren County Farmers Fair and Hot Air Balloon Festival and loved both events, which take place annually. You'll find information and important links on this page to plan your day at one or both of the festivals.

I'll do my best to keep you updated each year on QuickChek (easy to confuse the spelling with Quick Check or Quick Chek) Balloon Festival as well as the Warren County (NJ) Balloon Festival and Farmer's Fair, and any other New Jersey hot air balloon events.

Our Personal Experiences at the QuickChek Event

When our children were young, my husband and I took them to the balloon festival at Solberg Airport. We didn't go for the whole day, but drove down later in the day hoping to see the evening balloon launch. This was our first experience going, and unfortunately, the balloons did not launch because the winds were too high.

We heard that in the morning the launch was beautiful, that there was what they call an "Albuquerque Circle" which means that the winds blow in such a way that they stay in the same general location going around in a large circle, like they do because of the conditions that exist in Albuquerque, New Mexico where one of the largest ballooning events takes place.

My husband and I went again one year because he was given tickets to spend a day at the event at one of his previous jobs. It was quite a warm day, but the balloons did launch and it was a wonderful sight to see. I am sharing some of our pictures for you to enjoy below.

2018 Warren County Farmer's Fair and Hot Air Balloon Festival Dates: July 28 - August 4

Unlike other balloon festivals, you also have MANY events to enjoy each day at the Farmer's Fair.

Fall Foliage Hot Air Balloon Tours in Hunterdon NJ

When I was putting together my "Colorful Fall Foliage in New Jersey" page, I discovered Hunterdon Ballooning, Inc. Their motto is "Take a Nature Walk in the Sky", offering rides during the year.

New Jersey is a beautiful place for a fall foliage tour, whether in a car or in the air in a Hot Air Balloon.

The colorful balloons in the sky are stunning. I wish I could fly on these balloons watching the earth from the sky. The photos are lovely too.

Every year there's a balloon festival in Quechee, Vermont, near where I used to live. The sky is filled with color.
