Dandruff can be a pain and itchy and flaky. Nobody likes it. Find out how to get rid of it.

Dandruff can ruin your day. That's for certain. It has you scratching your scalp all day and flakes are coming off and on to your new outfit.

What a pain.

It could be caused by your stress, could be a fungus or yeast, dry skin or a condition of some kind.

But you know one thing: You want to get rid of the dandruff fast. It's driving you crazy!

Okay, there are ways to get rid of dandruff naturally with products at your disposable in the house or at the store.

Let's look at ways to get rid of dandruff.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Yep, you read that right. Apple cider vinegar will get rid of dandruff. It contains mallic acid that keeps down the itchiness and flaking and enzymes that combat and destroy bacteria and fungus that cause dandruff. It opens up clogged pores, acts as a conditioner and gives your hair shine and volume.

How to apply:

  • Part your hair so you can get to the scalp.
  • With a cotton ball apply apple cider vinegar directly to the scalp, everywhere.
  • Massage it in.
  • Wrap up hair in warm towel so that the vinegar gets into the hair and the pores.
  • Leave the vinegar in your hair for an hour.
  • Wash with warm water and don't shampoo your hair if you can take the smell of the vinegar.
  • Wash the next day.
  • Repeat once a week for a month.

Lemon and Honey

Lemon is a purifier, it gets rid of oil, dirt and dandruff. Honey has a lot of hard to get nutrients and fights infections and bacteria.

Here's how to do it:

  • Squeeze out the juice of two lemons
  • Add double the water
  • Add a quarter of a cup of honey
  • Apply to scalp and hair
  • Let sit for an hour
  • Wash hair

Coconut Oil and Lemon

You need:

  • One tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Five tablespoons of coconut oil.

Apply to scalp. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash hair

Neem Leaves

The Neem plant can be made into a powder and a paste or you can make tea out of the leaves and apply it to your scalp and hair. You can purchase the powder and mix it with water to make the paste.

You work it into your hair and leave it in for 30 to 45 minutes and then wash it out.

The Neem plant is a natural anti-septic and will get rid of dandruff.

Other Ways to Get Rid of Dandruff

There are many simple and natural ways to treat dandruff. Some of these are:

  • Olive oil. Apply it lukewarm and massage it into your hair and scalp and leave it in overnight.
  • Aloe vera. This plant has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. The gel is cool and relaxing so massaging it into your hair and scalp might get rid of the stress that could be causing your dandruff too. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse it out.
  • Tea tree oil. Again, apply it to the scalp and let it sit for 30 minutes and then rinse it out.
