Sketching And Coloring A Cartoon Elephant
Step By Step Cartoon Elephant Drawing Tutorial
How to draw a Cartoon Elephant is a step by step photo illustration drawing tutorial that you can follow and try and draw your very own Cartoon Elephant. From the beginning sketch to the near finished Elephant design it really helps when all the steps have been drawn and laid out for you to have a go at sketching.
Other drawing tutorials in the Cartoon drawing series include:-
The drawing steps go from the sketching stage to the inking and then the full coloring stage using Crayola Twistables which are ideal for coloring as there is no need for a pencil sharpener which I always found annoying with traditional coloring pencils even though I still use them and Prismacolors too.
Lets begin shall we? Start off by sketching a round shape for the head and a line for the back and we are ready to roll.
Draw The Features And Details
By simply adding eyes and a mouth you are creating a personality for your Elephant and adding character to it. So try and draw in the eyes and start to define the face more at this stage and the Elephants body too with the huge toe nails which can be later colored pink or light grey it's up to you.
As you can see from this section the drawing comes together quite nicely and it's looking more like an Elephant now with all of the elements in place like huge ears and trunk and large legs like thick tree trunks.
Before you start to ink the drawing make sure you are happy with the drawing.
Coloring A Cartoon Elephant With Crayolas
Color With Crayola Twistable Pencils
I used the Crayola Twistable color pencils for this and other coloring tutorials and they are great to use for blending the colors together and if at the end of drawing this cartoon Elephant you could get a white Crayola pencil and start to blend the Black with it, making the black a more smoother looking grey which is something I didn't do below.
I used a Black, a Pink and a light Blue for the eyes and this is all you need really unless you want your Elephant to be entirely Pink or Blue or any other different color. Or maybe you want to draw stripes and spots all over your Elephant because it's up to you.
Have fun drawing and coloring your very own Cartoon Elephant.
