How To Get Rid Of Your Plantar Fasciitis

by retreadfitness

I have dealt with bouts of plantar fasciitis for the last 20 some years. It's always knocking at my door. By doing this one method, I rarely even think about plantar fasciitis.

Getting Rid Of Plantar Fasciitis Is Not A Secret

I can vividly remember experiencing plantar fasciitis 20 some years ago and I was really puzzled about this pain that came on strong in the morning and then went away within an hour after waking up.  Each year it seems to get worse.  It got so bad that I thought I may have trouble walking so I decided to fix the problem once and for all.

I had seen advertisements for a downloadable PDF book on how to get rid of my plantar fasciitis.  I am always skeptical when it comes to books and tapes that promise relief for heel pain.  It came with a 60 day money back guarantee.  The book is called "Plantar Fasciitis Secrets Revealed". The only thing that I had to loose was the terrible pain in my arches.  I ordered to ebook and had it read in about 30 minutes.  There are no secrets in the book.  The author will be the first to tell you that everything that he has in the ebook is available online.  The trouble is that you have to know where to find it.  I had been searching for years for a solution.  He gives you everything you need to know to get rid of this horrible ailment.  But I have to warn you that it is going to take time.  As much as two years or more is needed to keep the heel pain from coming back to haunt you.

The author said that if you do nothing else except this one thing, you will have success with getting rid of the pain in your heels and arches.  He suggests that you use a night splint to keep the plantar fascii stretched while you sleep.  I tried a few different types of night splints and hated them.  What really worked for me was the Strassburg Sock.  It does the same thing as a night splint and is 10 times more comfortable!  Within a few weeks after wearing the Strassburg Sock, I was able to walk without any pain.  For me, it was a miracle cure.

Alternative Methods To Stop The Heel Pain While Walking Or Running

Rest And Ice You Injury

Some of the best methods for treating heel pain is rest and ice. I know that most walkers and runners do not want to hear the word “rest”. Nevertheless, if you ever want to run again, then it's better to rest a little now and be able to run the rest of your life. When you stop your activity you are allowing your body to naturally heal itself.

Extremely cold water or ice has been used for centuries to treat pain and inflammation. While I am not a medical doctor or physical therapist, I have been using ice for sports injuries for nearly 5 decades. It worked for swollen and injured muscles in high school and it still works today. The best part about ices that it is a free treatment. To treat plantar fasciitis with ice I use small cooler or lunch box size frozen ice packs and rest my foot directly on top of the ice. I do this in the convenience of my home well sitting in front of my computer. Another technique that I like to use is to freeze water in Styrofoam cups in peel back the cup as I massage the bottom of my heel and arch with the ice cup.
