Irish Gifts for Saint Patrick’s Day

by WriterArtist

This St. Patrick Day let us all become a bit Irish to get into the spirit of a special celebration which is dedicated to the patron saint of Ireland.

Irish gifts are perfect for wedding gifts, baby shower and any other ceremonies.

On Saint Patrick’s Day, it is traditional to wear green dresses, all gear that displays shamrock or any accessory that shows green. A hat or a belt or even a green wig does the trick. Any gift that has the shamrock green will make a beautiful green present on this day.

Belleek Gifts

Belleek is a small village in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland and is famous for its pottery work, it is a famous company dealing in porcelain which produces excellent products that are compact, iridescent and artistic. Belleek collections are elegant and an example of finesse and artistry.

The company has produced beautiful Celtic patterns characterized by the early designs in Europe. Many products are handmade and the craftsmanship is brilliant. Celtic designs generally evolve intricate mesh, braiding patterns and knots. They symbolize eternity through embossed symbols. When the designs are surrounded by circle, it gives a greater meaning to the circle of life emphasizing the message.

Similarly the designs of Claddagh mugs originated from the Irish culture and heritage. The mugs were handmade in Ireland. The Claddagh pattern displays an ancient Celtic design which symbolizes love, friendship and loyalty. The heart represents love, the crown represents loyalty and the hands represent friendship.

History of Saint Patrick’s Day

With all the commotion, holidaying and beer drinking it is easy to forget about the real reason Saint Patrick Day is happening. It is to celebrate a Roman boy of humble origins enslaved by Irish who later emerged winner in spreading the principles of Christianity. The day is also called as St. Paddy’s Day.

This secular holiday happened in seventeenth century when the Irish migrated to US. Perhaps they saw it as an opportunity to make a political statement by introducing Saint Patrick Day’s parades to improve their status and contributions in US.

Prior to Saint Patrick’s Day there were many instances when the Irish immigrants felt dissatisfied by their social status in United States of America, since then people from all walks of life love to dress in shamrock and entertain themselves with the colourful parades held in the most important part of cities not only in Ireland but in other parts of the planet as well.

This Saint Patrick’s Day let us turn "All Things Irish," with traditional Irish music, Irish ballads and Irish themes.

Since the immigrants from Ireland could not afford the bacon in early days, they like Jewish immigrants substituted with corned beef, an affordable option. Nothing fancies better than Irish recipes to a cook who loved cooking in the home whether the cook happens to be a celebrated Chef or plain housewife.

WriterArtist, Thank you for product lines, pretty pictures and practical information.
You collect a beautiful range of appropriate, attractive, practical, relevant, timeless gifts for March 17. In particular, I like the Aran sweater, the ark, the books, the china and glassware and the throws. The Aran plated throw makes me think of some of the patterns that are achieved by high-quality rush-woven floor coverings.

China and glassware always prompt cleaning thoughts. Dark-colored foods and water sometimes spoil their shine and their texture, particularly in terms of water marks and water wear. Would you happen to know of any ancient, environmentally friendly ways of keeping china and glassware with their original sparkle?
