Jewelry Cleaning Recipe Cleans Gold or Silver

Frugal people prefer to use toothpaste and a soft bristle toothbrush to clean diamond engagement ring, class rings, bracelets, and necklaces

Many self-reliant folks rather enjoy re-purposing that tired ole worn out toothbrush. You know the one, once upon a time; the stiff bristles effectively clean the gunk from between your teeth. Well instead of throwing that old toothbrush in the trash.

Cleaning Jewelry with Tooth Brush and Toothpaste

Recycle it by using it along with good non-abrasive non-whitening toothpaste and clean all that make-up, hair spray and other disgusting stuff from the nooks and crannies of your cherished engagement ring, chains and other treasured jewelry.

Simply put a dab of toothpaste on the toothbrush like you would when brushing your teeth.

Give your engagement ring a good brushing, and rinse under warm water. To avoid losing jewelry down the drain. Put a plastic colander in the sink and make sure to hold your ring, bracelet or necklace over the colander while brushing and rinsing.

Allow your prized possessions too air dry, and wipe off any water spots with a jewelry polishing cloth, or soft lint free towel.

Hey Katie, with two active young ladies in the house I can only imagine there is no end to the drama centered on all the jewelry keepsakes the little ladies and you have to share. Keeping it all clean need not be a big problem as well. After all which of your two girls, would want the responsibility of keeping all your keepsakes sparkling clean using the ole toothbrush and tooth paste method. Scrubbing and rinsing all the valuable gold and silver rings, bracelets and necklaces in the bathroom sink. Shoot it is only a matter of time, before something gets dropped down the drain.
Using the ultrasonic cleaner is not only a safer way of cleaning jewelry, eyeglasses and retainers, it’s a less messy way of cleaning many small hard to keep clean items waterproof men’s watches and the like. :)
Be well, and make it a great day...M

I don't wear much jewelry, but what I have are treasured pieces that are a bit of an investment. I certainly want to take the best care of my jewelry I can. After reading your article I don't feel it's such a good idea to use the tooth brush method any longer. I'm going to get one of these ultra sonic cleaners. With two daughters, one who loves jewelry, I'll put this to good use. Thanks for the useful advice. :)K
