Fondant Monkey Love Cake

monkey love cake Creating a Monkey Love fondant cake such as the one pictured here is not as difficult as it may look.

To make you Monkey Love cake you need hot pink, orange, blue and green fondant, flower shape cutters in a variety of sizes and bird shape cookie cutter.

Simply bake any style of cake you want including a sheet cake, tiered cake, round cake, etc. You could even make cupcakes.

Then cover the cake or cupcakes with fondant. Embellish your cake with hot pink, blue, orange and green flowers in different sizes and a bird. To do this, roll out your fondant, cut using the cookie cutters and then apply to your cake. Making the Monkey is definitely a bit of a challenge and would be more suited for experienced cake decorators. However, if you want to give it a try, take brown and tan fondant and shape the monkey by hand using an image as your template.

If you don't want to attempt to make the fondant monkey, another idea would be to print out an image of this monkey, cut it out, laminate it and attach it to the top of your cake with a toothpick or wood skewer.

Whether you make a fondant monkey or include the monkey image, your cake will look fabulous with the colorful fondant flowers that coordinate perfectly with the partyware.
