Shameless is one of the hit shows on Showtime. It started in January of 2011 and had its second season in January of 2012. And the new season is starting on January 13, 2013! There are many of us that just can't wait to get started!
Shameless is about low income family with a drunken father and an absent mother. There are six kids and Fiona is the oldest. She's the one that takes care of them all. She makes sure that there is food in the cupboards (most of the time), that the lights and water stay on (most of the time) and that everyone goes to school (most of the time).
There are a lot of challenges for these kids but somehow they manage to get through them - because they have each other.

Fiona does leave but I'm not sure if it's after the first or second season. It first aired here about/approx ten years ago and my memory is dreadful. :)
I think I've heard that it changes as the seasons progress because doesn't Fiona leave after the first season in the UK?
I watched the first episode of Shameless US. It is an exact replica of the original Shameless Uk which was filmed in my hometown of Manchester, England. I was amazed that the lines are completely the same. It's a great series, funny, sad and sometimes even poignant. And honestly, it gets even better as the series goes on. :)
