I enjoy wearing very tactile pieces of jewellery - pendants with big smooth cabochon stones, and hammered or textured silver rings that I can hold and rotate between my thumb and forefinger. For some reason, it helps me to relax and get my thoughts in order, or what passes for order in my brain lol! (And when it comes to having "something to do with your hands", it's certainly a lot healthier than smoking cigarettes - something to bear in mind if you're trying to give up the evil weed.) I've done a bit of research on Amazon.com and found that they have a great choice of spinner rings, whether for yourself or as a gift for the jewellery lover and/or recovering smoker in your life. If you want a silver spinner ring with a Celtic touch, then there's a lot of choice - Silver Insanity does a great range of Celtic themed spinner rings, and the choice of sizes is nice and big too. There's even a spinning take on the claddagh ring. If you've never come across claddagh rings before, they are traditional Irish rings which feature a crowned heart clasped in two hands. The heart equals love, the hands correspond to friendship and the crown symbolises loyalty. You can show your relationship status by the way you wear a claddagh ring - if you wear it with the crown pointing outwards (towards your fingernail), then you're either in love or married. If you wear it with the crown pointing towards yourself, then it means that you're unattached.

If Celtic designs aren't your thing then there are plenty of other themes to choose from when it comes to spin rings - crosses, hearts, lucky clover and even phases of the moon! For something that really makes a positive statement, how about Sabrina Silver's sun rays spinner ring? At the time of writing, it comes in sizes 8-14 but if even size 8 is too big then you can always wear it as a thumb ring. It's approximately half an inch wide, which is quite substantial so I would recommend going a size bigger than you normally take.

From the same company but slightly more dainty is the foot print spinner ring, which is 3/8 of an inch wide. I love the little oxidised footprints going all the way around the central band! Again, this comes in sizes 8-14 at the time of writing.

And for a slightly different take on the spinner ring idea, Silver Insanity sells a "roaming turtle" ring. Admittedly it's a bit unclear how the mechanism works, but it looks as though the turtle/tortoise is attached to the band in some way, but can be moved along it. At the time of writing, it's available in sizes 5 and 9.
