The author of Petter Rabbit books, loved by all ages, lived and wrote in the Lake District.

Beatrix Potter lived at Sawrey, near Hawkshead in England's Lake District when she wrote the much loved Peter Rabbit books. My favourite times of year are April and September. There is almost too much greenery in July and August! The school holidays are busy.

I've never made it to the English Lake District - I'd love to though! What time of the year do you recommend? As an antipodean I hate crowds so I'm guessing not July/Aug ??
