Beatrix Potter is another famous resident of the Lake District
The author of Petter Rabbit books, loved by all ages, lived and wrote in the Lake District.
Beatrix Potter lived at Sawrey, near Hawkshead in England's Lake District when she wrote the much loved Peter Rabbit books. There are stil lpeople alive in the Lake District today who's family know Beatrix Potter. Known locally by her married name of Mrs Heelis, Beatrix Potter was agenerous and well respected Lake District resident.

The Beatrix Potter house is a delight. She was so unspoilt , Take a look at picture of Peter Rabbit's garden in the books and Hilltop veg garden is just like that.
I was tearful when we were leaving.
WhiteMoss, "Daffodils" is a poem that I recite every spring when first the yellow beauties emerge near my front, shade garden. Have you seen the film "Miss Potter"? It's a charming combination of information about her delightful children's stories and her environmental interests. Hill Top grounds and house epitomize what I'd have as a dream home and property.
I'd love to visit the Lake District, and the Beatrix Potter home in particular.
