The Best Table Saw Fence System That You Can Buy

by ered222

How to choose the best table saw fence system. And why it is so vital to own a good fence for your table saw. Learn where you can buy a fence or how you can build your own.

A table saw fence is probably the most vital thing that’s on the saw. The fence is what makes your cuts accurate, which is the most critical thing if you want things to fit together properly on the project you are working on.

For example, say you are cutting a piece of plywood that you will be placing on studs for a wall. Well, if the cut you made with the table saw isn’t straight then that piece of plywood will be useless because it wont line up with your studs.

The fence also makes sure that the wood you are cutting doesn’t bind in the saw blade.  It is dangerous when this happens because if the wood binds in the saw, the wood could get stuck and then the saw will push the wood back at you, hitting you, which could lead to serious injury.  So it’s important to find a good fence system and to also know how to use it properly.

Although most table saws come with a fence included, there are several reasons why it’s necessary to buy another fence.  One reason you may need to buy another fence is because the original one has broken.

Another reason may be because the original fence that came with the saw wasn’t making accurate cuts.  If this is the case then it is crucial that you buy another one immediately after you notice the inaccurate cuts.  Never use a broken table saw fence due to binding issues.

If these two scenarios fit your case, then you have two options that you can do.  One is to buy a fence that fits you current table saw, which depending where you buy it from, can get pricey.  Or you can build your own fence.

If you have the money then I suggest you just buy one.  But if you aren’t willing to spend the money, making a fence is quite easy.

How To Make A Table Saw Fence

But if that seems a little complicated and you just want to buy one, here are some of the best that you can buy.

Vega PRO 50 Table Saw Fence System

This fence is probably the best you can find anywhere.  It’s a bit pricey, but it’s because this fence is so accurate that you don’t have to worry about making bad cuts.

With this fence you can cut wood that is 50 inches long to the right of the saw and you can cut wood that is 10 inches to the left of the saw.

This is perfect for practically any job you want to cut wood for.  I like this fence the best because it can be used for any table saw, no matter what brand.

DELTA 30-Inch Fence and Rail System

This fence was made to be put on a Delta table saw.  It is easily attached to your saw by using a clamp.  The clamp will securely hold onto the saw as you cut, ensuring that you wont make a bad cut.  You can easily move the fence by lifting up on the clamp.  Fences that are easily adjustable make the process of cutting much more smoothly.

INCRA Table Saw Fence 32-Inch Range

Anther fence that you can use on any table saw is this one.  You don’t need to drill holes into your table saw or modify it in any way because this fence is compatible with every brand of saw.

The thing that I like most about this saw is how easy you can change the position of the saw.  And there is no need to use your tape measure to measure your cuts because there is already an automatic measuring feature, built right into the fence.
