The Many Health Benefits of Juicing

by NateB11

Fresh vegetable and fruit juices have many health benefits. Here we explore what many of those benefits are.

It's recommended that you get somewhere in the range of 6-8 servings of fruits and vegetables in your diet daily. The greater the variety of fruits and vegetables, the better: The more nutrients your body will be ingesting and the healthier you will be.

It might be difficult to get that many fruits and vegetables into your body. You might be alright with eating a green salad everyday, but you might not be willing to figure out how to put various fruits and vegetables on your plate enough to equal 6-8 servings.

Of course, there's always an easier way. And it's important to remember that the more fruits and vegetables you consume, the healthier you will be; whatever it takes to get these healthy foods into your body will be beneficial.

Here we will look at what are the general benefits of juicing, what are some of the most beneficial fruits and vegetable juices and what you might consider in terms of a juicer to get all these healthy foods into a form that you can drink daily to fill your body with healing nutrients.

The Benefits

As stated, you might not want to figure out how to fit the variety of fruits and vegetables into your every meal to reach your daily recommended amount of servings. Juicing makes this all much easier. You can juice a variety of fruits and vegetables in one drink and take it all in at a sitting.

The fact that these fruits and vegetables are essentially "predigested" by being juiced also makes it easier for your body to readily assimilate and absorb all those powerful nutrients.

You are also consuming raw material that has not been diluted by the cooking process; cooking food reduces the nutrients in the food. Keeping it raw is another benefit of juicing.

Fruits and vegetables have many health benefits and consuming a good quantity of them regularly by juicing, of course, gives your body what it needs to be strong and healthy. Among the benefits of fruits and vegetables:

  • Protection against cancer
  • Protection against cardiovascular disease
  • Protection against inflammatory diseases like arthritis

These foods contain antoxidants which guard against cell damage which occurs due to toxins in your environment and that enter your body. The nutrients in fruits and vegetables, essentially, detoxify your body and keep it running smoothly and healthily. They boost the immune system and give you energy.

And it is good to know that they contain few calories and no fat and so keep you trim and looking good.

Beet Juice

One of the main functions of the nutrients in beet juice is to protect your liver. This is important, as you can imagine, because the liver filters toxins from the body.

Beets help your circulatory system, keep the air and blood flowing through your body efficiently. They are rich in antioxidants and good nitrates that improve blood flow to the brain, heart and muscles; they open up vessels and allow more oxygen flow and, so, lower blood pressure. In fact, they fight arteriosclerosis which causes plaque build up in the arteries, so beets combat heart disease and cholesterol.

Beet juice is also an anti-inflammatory so fights such conditions as arthritis.

It's a detoxifier that fights cancer.

Beets contain a good amount of Folic Acid and Manganese and so are good for your skin, kidneys, eyes and prevent birth defects if you are carrying a baby.

Beets are high in iron too, so they keep your blood healthy.

Of course beets give you good amounts of energy and definitely fight fatigue.

Fact is, if you juice beets you are getting all of the nutrients from the plant, known as phytonutrients, that would be lost if you cooked or pickled the beets.

Carrots

Carrots are a good blood sugar regulator because they contain carotenoids and your bodily easily absorbs the natural sugar in carrots. Carrots are rich in many nutrients including vitamins A, C, D, E, K and vitamins B1 and B6. They contain Biotin, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, organic sodium and other healthy minerals that keep your bones, skin, hair, eyes and teeth strong. Potassium in particular keeps your organs healthy.

Carrots also contain antioxidants that fight disease.

Carrots clean your blood, prevent plaque build up in the arteries and are good for your respiratory system. They have anti-inflammatory properties that fight conditions like arthritis.

Carrots increase and aid the performance of white blood cells and aid the body's resistance to infection. They also nourish starved cells so battle ulcers.

Cranberries

Cranberries are good for your kidneys, bladder and urinary tract and for this reason prevent urinary tract infections and offer healthy functioning of kidneys and bladder.

They prevent the formation of ulcers and kidney stones and protect against cancer and heart disease.

They also aid in preventing obesity by reducing fat deposits on the body

Grapes

Grapes contain antioxidants that protect you against the build up of bad cholesterol and also reduce blood clots that cause heart disease, in addition to actually raising the level of good cholesterol in your body. So, grapes reduce the risk of heart attack and lower blood pressure.

Grape juice prevents the formation of cancerous tumors.

Grapefruit

Grapefruit is known for its benefits for weight loss. Dieters have been using grapefruits in their daily regimen for many years. This is because grapefruit contains a fat burning enzyme that helps the body absorb and reduce starch and sugar in the body. Adding grapefruit juice to your diet will help your weight loss efforts and keep the body healthy, trim and strong.

The fruit also contains pectin which is a soluble fiber that slows down atherosclerosis and lowers cholesterol, so grapefruit is good for your heart's functions.

The food's prevention of free radical damage that causes inflammation also fights such conditions as asthma and arthritis.

Grapefruit prevents the formation of tumors and repairs DNA damage by cancer cells, so helps in the prevention of cancer.

The Best Juicer

The Omega VRT350

When looking for a juicer to juice your healthy, whole vegetables and fruit, you want one that keeps most of the nutritional value in the juice. The Omega VRT350 is a slow juicer that goes through a two-step process in which the fruit or vegetable is actually squeezed, so that you get the full extent of the nutrients in the foods you're juicing. This also helps retain the full delicious taste of the foods in the juice.

The juicer is also valuable because you can juice a great variety of fruits and vegetables with it, and it is important to drink a variety of juices so that you get a diversity of nutrients.

The juicer takes up less space, is easy to use and assemble and clean, and serves up drinks easily from the small spout of the serving containers. It is also a quiet juicer, in case your family happens to be studying, working, or sleeping while you're juicing, or you just would prefer a quieter juicer.

The juice does retain some pulp, which is fine because the pulp also contains nutrients and can add a nice texture and taste to the drinks.

So, there you have it. Juicing helps you to get the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet to keep your body healthy and strong and aids in making sure you get a diversity of nutrients as well. Juicing is an easier way to make sure you get all of the nutrition that your body needs.
