Gift for Seniors....Things With Big Numbers and Letters

by pawpaw

Do you have a friend or relative who is a senior citizen? If you do, you might be interested in checking out these great products with large numbers and letters, for seniors.

Although some of these things were designed with seniors in mind, they are also suitable for just about anyone who likes being able to easily read things, without having to put on their glasses, and squint and strain to focus.

I'm getting closer to being in that age group that would make me a senior, and I can see the advantages of some of the products listed below. I also know that some of these things would be helpful to my mother, who is getting up in years. Anything we can do to make life a little easier for the seniors in our lives, is a good thing.

One thing that everyone, regardless of age uses, is a clock. I find myself looking at one many times each day.

Even though I'm technically not a senior, I find that it is easy to forget the date. I even have to think for a second, to remember what day it is sometimes. With an Oversized Digital LED Calendar Clock, you can have that information handy when you need it. If you have a friend or family member who has trouble remembering the day of week, or the date, one of these would make a great gift.

Talking Medication Reminder Clock

Many older people have health issues. As a part of medical problems, they often have to take multiple medications. When you have to take one medication 3 times a day, and another twice a day, and a third 4 times a day, it can be pretty hard to keep track of.

The little 4 Alarm Talking Reminder Clock below, can help with remembering to take their medications. It can be useful for people who are caring for an older person also. Once set, it can remind users up to 4 times a day, when it is time to take medication. It will give the reminders, in a "friendly female voice".

You can choose just the reminder alarm, or the entire organizing system. They get pretty good reviews, so before buying, I would recommend reading the reviews, to see if it would suite your needs.

Amplified Corded Big-Button Telephone

Along with needing bigger numbers and letters for easier reading, we sometimes lose a little bit of our hearing as we age. This phone address both of those problems. It has big easy to read buttons, and it also amplifies incoming sounds. It has adjustable volume control, and is Hearing aid compatible.

This phone was designed specifically for those who have mild to moderate hearing loss. It has an extra loud ringer. On Amazon's five star rating system this phone gets 4.5 stars, out of 5. I read many of the reviews, and many of the people who bought the phone, bought it for family members.

Keyboards With Large Letters

Many seniors are venturing out on the world wide web. Some are using keyboards for the first time, and some are even learning to type for the first time.

My own father was 77 years old, when he decided that he wanted to learn how to type. I bought him some software that could help him learn, but at the time, I didn't know about the keyboards with the large easy to read letters and numbers. Even those who already know how to type a little, often need to hunt and peck, and being able to easily see the letters, will make that a lot easier.

Large Display Bathroom Scale

As we grow older, sadly we many times get larger. Maintaining a healthy weight, becomes increasingly important as we age. This bathroom scale, has a bright extra large display. It also has a non slip surface, and will weigh up to 440 pounds, or 200 kilograms.

Monitoring your weight is very important for certain medical conditions. This scale will make keeping track of your weight easier.

I could use these...can't see without my glasses, so big numbers would help!

In the middle of the night, is an excellent time to have a big display.

I have a large digital display alarm clock that I swear by. Even in the dead of night through fuzzy eyes, I can still make out what time it is!
