Wedding favours were originally small, decorated trinket boxes and you could use the traditional wedding favour ideas for your own. You don’t need to spend a lot to create these small and beautiful boxes. In fact, you could buy your own on eBay, Amazon and many other websites. The boxes also contained sugared sweets.
You could also create your own little trinket boxes. You can buy plain boxes and decorate them in your own wedding colours, whether with small jewels, ribbon or beads.
These trinkets could even double up as something else. They would make beautiful centrepieces on the table or you could add a name plate to them to create a name place at a dinner. Try trinkets in the shape of a chair with the name place resting on the seat of the chair. There are plenty of directions online to create your own boxes.
Those are just three wedding favour ideas for small budgets. They’re really simple to do and work really easily for different skill levels, wedding themes and needs. I loved doubling my wedding favours with the name places but you may want to show off your baking skills and create a special sweet for your guests.

Thank you, ologsinquito. It's amazing just how many great websites are out there now. eBay became my best friend. I think the only thing we spent a large amount (for what they were and who they were for) was our daughter's handmade booties. She did get two uses out of them though, since she wore them for her christening too.
Your wedding pictures look so lovely. No one would have guessed you were on a small budget.
Thank you, cmoneyspinner. Good luck at that!
Mira, Jo is right. Sugared almonds are delicious. We had a few left over and I ended up eating them all before I started my diet. It was really funny trying to find them though--we had to go down the seasonal aisle at the supermarket since they're really only eaten at Christmas now!
You should eat sugared almonds! They're delicious. :)
Do people actually eat those sugared almonds? I store mine in a cupboard. One day I wondered if they were edible. That's when I found out what they were exactly. I thought they were something else -- for good luck, fertility, God knows what. Funny, huh?:)
Lovely ideas and suggestions! Now if I can just get some more of my kids to have a wedding. :)
