Aboard a Cruise Ship

Staying aboard a cruise ship may be an expensive option in terms of accommodations, but doing so while visiting The Keys makes it more special and worth every penny. Why? Because staying on a cruise lets you tour the whole archipelago of The Keys- making you see sights that regular tourists don’t get to see. You also get to enjoy fresh seafood and fine dining in a captivating setting. Lastly, the sunset cruises where dinner is an option lets you create a romantic memory that you will fondly remember for the years to come.

It might not be the budget method, but if you're taking a vacation and want to skip the hundreds of miles of driving to and from Miami to Key West then going with a cruise ship isn't a bad way to go.  Swimming pool, attractive singles, party boat atmosphere - or lounging as you went from Key Largo to Key West.  Much better than driving for hours on end :)

Floating Accomodations at the Marathon Key

If you don’t have the means to stay aboard a cruise ship while visiting The Keys, there’s an alternative that lets you stay on more affordable accommodations that float nonetheless. At Marathon, a city in Vaca Key, floating accommodations are popular because they offer great views of the ocean and can be rented at more affordable rates. Just remember to book early if you plan to stay there during peak seasons, since floating accommodations get easily filled up.

While in the area, make sure to enjoy what a lot has to offer.  Marathon scuba diving charters are a great way to see the many amazing coral reefs and dive sites found throughout not only Marathon but some of the bordering Florida Keys, as well.  Monroe County, FL's artificial reef program is a resounding success and helps to guarantee that there are plenty of great dive sites to explore throughout the area.

You can find great scuba diving and snorkeling throughout the Keys, as well as some of the best saltwater fishing in the world.
