Nantwich Cheshire; The Great Fire and The English Civil War
Indeed. Cheshire was originally a large salt lake/ marsh and as the water evaporated, salt remained.

The reason that there was a salty stream there at one time is that Cheshire has deep reserves of salt underlying some parts of it. The Cheshire salt mines are still operative and consist of huge underground caverns.

PS
The English Civil War was 1642 to 1651 and King Charles was beheaded in 1649. Thus ended the monarchy which was replaced by a Republican Commonwealth under Oliver Cromwell. The Monarchy was restored in 1660.

Nantwich Cheshire; The Great Fire and The English Civil War
The name Nantwich reveals the mixed traditions of the area. Nant is a Welsh word for a salty stream, and wich is a local form of the Anglo-Saxon Latin-derivative wick, an enclosure for primarily economic purposes, maybe a sheep or dairy farm. ...

Bassenthwaite; Lakeland Wildlife Park, Cumbria
The animals aren't indigenous at all. It is a lovely generic wildlife park and not specific to North West Cumbria which is the far north of England. It is a lovely spot and the animals have acres of parkland and moorland.

Bassenthwaite; Lakeland Wildlife Park, Cumbria
I used to visit Bassenthwaite with my parents. It is very quiet and calm and my favourite spot. I took my sons as children and now visit with my sons and grandson. HE is the fourth generation of our family to stay at Bassenthwaite.

I believe some of the animals may not be indigenous to the area. The kookaburra for xample is one of Australia's birds, and they almost have made it a national symbol.

Fine Tuning Your Budget: Essential Consumables
I don't buy frozen processed meals but I make dinners from fresh ingredients then freeze them. I always put dates on each. As you said, restaurant food can easily be made at home. Good article!

What this show is that borders are not set in stone, but are very flexible; and with borders go identities. They should not be set in stone either,
Anyway, Bassenthwaite is a lovely lake, but one that I have not given much attention.
