Child Location Devices: They Come In Many Sizes and Prices
They sound really helpful. I agree, missing a child is a parent's worst nightmare. When we go to crowded places, I am actually very worried about my four year old. I am not sure if these are available where I live now.

Who Won the Battle of Bannockburn? And What Did they Win?
Good points, Calanon! I question whether the definitions of Pict was as clear as we would like to think. Certainly there were Britons North of the wall, else Cumbric would not have been spoken there. But the distinction between Pictish and ...

Who Won the Battle of Bannockburn? And What Did they Win?
I don't want to get too into this just yet as I'm going to start studying pre-Roman Britain and Roman Britain in September, however with Hadrian's Wall from all the maps I can find Hadrian's Wall was not built through the centre of Pictland as ...

Who Won the Battle of Bannockburn? And What Did they Win?
Hadrian's Wall was built straight through the centre of Pictland. People assume it was on the edge of Friendly Territory, but you'd have never got the wall up, if that was the case. It was mostly constructed by British slave labour, but with ...

Timeline of the Arthurian Legends through the Middle Ages 410-600
Now you've alerted me to the possibilities, I'm almost certain there would be. The Arthurian legend isn't merely British. It spread across Europe, then the world by the 12th century. Catholicism was certainly a massive force in the 12th ...

Laser Hair Removal; Does It Work, Is It Safe?
I've had my bikini line lasered. I went to a Harley Street clinic in London where I was assessed by a qualified nurse. Thereafter, all my treatments were administered by a beautician. All I'm going to say is that it worked out cheaper than ...

How far is Scotland a Celtic state? The people of the North descend from Picts, who were ancient Britons; Irish settlers, who dominated the Picts to found the kingdom of Scotland; and Norse. In the south there were Britons and Angles. Let us ...

Timeline of the Arthurian Legends through the Middle Ages 410-600
The Vatican library and archives go back centuries, and have been kept carefully. However, I cannot vouch for the condition of the older ones. Whether older ones have crumbled depends upon whether they are parchment or vellum. I am pretty ...

Who Won the Battle of Bannockburn? And What Did they Win?
Prebble's book broke my heart when I read it. More so than his book on Culloden, but only because I expected what I was going to read there.

Timeline of the Arthurian Legends through the Middle Ages 410-600
Now THAT is a fascinating prospect, which had never actually occurred to me. Do you think there really could be documents in the Vatican which mention Arthur? They would have been safe from so many purges there. But if they weren't being ...

Glimpses of a Farm that Once Was: A Photo Collection
Lovely photos but also so sad. Where there was once such life and abundance now there is just ruin and memory.
