How I Use Fabric Pots For Gardening
An allotment is a patch of land away from the owner's house. Generally rented from the council or other neighborhood landowner. It often has a shed and occasionally chickens but is used for vegetable/fruit growing usually, am I right Frank? In ...

I am curious about the word "allotment". Is it just another word for your yard over there in the UK? It does take time. I've been busy lugging dirt to all my garden beds to be ready to plant by the end of May. I assume you are retiring and ...

You are completely right , Dustytoes, about the quicker warming of soil in raised beds. In the rubble sacks my potatoes mature earlier than they do in the ground. The downside is that raised beds dry out more quickly than the ground does. I am ...

That's an interesting idea. Having little ground area to plant causes us to think outside the box doesn't it?

I try not to log on unless I'm promoting some products too. Then I take some time to see and pin other images as well.

I think the soil warms quicker for starting seedlings when they are planted in the raised container. And the black fabric of course holds heat. I agree that certain vegetables need the ground to spread out.

What a good use of items for potting plants! I have an old birdbath with a crack in the bottom which I plan to use to grow something that has a shallow root system. Don't know what yet. Or I may use it as a stand to hold a large bucket or ...

I use Pinterest every day to pin from Zazzle and other boards I visit. I look for healthy recipes and gardening tips for myself, as well as art. I have to be careful of the time I spend there - it can get out of control!

I use large fabric rubble sacks for growing potatoes and onions. The reason for this is that I have an orchard section on my allotment. and no vegetables will grow beneath the trees and bushes. So to use the space more efficiently I use rubble ...

Organize Photo Clutter by Creating Personalized Photo Books
I have hundreds - perhaps thousands - of photos I've taken over the years. Some are in albums, while others are just stuffed in bags and drawers. I recently learned about photobooks, and think they are great! Now, if I can just find the time ...

How to keep snakes away
I have a lot of snakes on my property. I keep my grass cut short, and the livestock feed in sealed containers. It doesn't keep all of the snakes away, but they are few and far between.

I think it's here to stay for a while. There's too many angles that appeal to people. For some it's recipes, others crafts, home remedies. It's not just one segment of the population
