Traces of the Past. Oft overlooked signs of farming in the Landscape
It's interesting that dewponds have such an ancient lineage, back 3,900 to 6,200 years in the British Isles! The second paragraph under that first subheading, Up the hill for water, mentions that "But surprisingly dew was probably not the ...

An Cóbh, Corcaigh, Eire
It's interesting that in each row the houses differ, for example, by roof and window style, in addition to the paint. There's a recent style here of owner-occupied townhouses, each with a different color and none on top of businesses which ...

Margin Call With Simon Baker: Review of the First Film in JC Chandor's Triple Drama Movie Crown
DerdriuMarriner - The review of Margin Call looks interesting. Although I am not into business/political movies, it certainly draws my attention. Does it have a tragic ending?

Traces of the Past. Oft overlooked signs of farming in the Landscape
An interesting revelation that I overlooked in Jack and Jill poem was certainly the need to climb the hill for water. Dew ponds definitely are the answer, a man made pond to quench thirst of the livestock during medieval times. I have also ...

Writer Artist . You are so right. Of course, the houses are very similar to some streets in Amsterdam. Interesting as like Cobh, they also have a mighty port attached to it. Thank you so much for your observations.

Cork gives a good glimpse of Ireland. The final destination for Titanic is a good enough reason to visit this beautiful town. The photo of row houses reminded me of Netherlands which had old houses lined us by the side of canal.
