I was never a Beatles fan because I like slightly faster music but I know most of their albums and I even wrote an article for a magazine about a decade ago. In my opinion they were special for two reasons:
1. They had a courage to made every album in totally new style, completely different than previous album.
2. They succeeded with every album.
I don't think any other band in history so successfully experimented with different music styles. The closest would be probably Blondie, but their albums didn't make so steady sales.
Just my two cents, really:)
