Why Buy Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
by tombok
Thinking about trying coconut oil? Have a look at Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, it may just be the one for you.
Have you checked out Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil yet? There are several good reasons why you should and it is not just based on my personal opinion. So many coconut oil reviews just launch straight into how this is the best, the most beneficial, the tastiest the most nourishing – blah blah blah! For me the more important point is that you really should give coconut oil a try, no matter what brand you actually choose to buy. I have found three or four really good brands, all with similar plus points and not much to really separate them. My favorite is Nutiva, but could it be yours?
What is So Special About Coconut Oil?
There has been a massive rise in the sales of coconut oil throughout the western world. Of course in countries where coconuts are plentiful, like India or the Philippines, people have been wise to the benefits of coconut oil for a long time. Nowadays we all seem to be striving for healthier diets and lifestyles; at last wakening up to the fact that highly processed products might not be the best for us or the environment. We are seeking pure, natural alternatives and coconut oil is one.
It can be used as a healthy replacement for fats and spreads used in cooking such as vegetable oils and butter. It has also become a popular ingredient in various homemade beauty recipes thanks to it’s nourishing and moisturizing qualities. Now of course you will read many peoples opinions as to how wonderful it is and how it will change your life and cure almost anything from acne to hair loss! I’m not going there, let’s just say it tastes great, smells nice, moisturizes and seems to be very healthy. That is why I use coconut oil and I suggest you take that approach to avoid disappointment when your baldness isn’t cured in three weeks.
A Healthy Oil?
Back in the seventies when coconut oil started to become more widely available the so called experts seemed to agree that this oil was too high in saturated fat to be healthy. They actually believed it was harmful. Roll on the time and now it seems everyone thinks it’s a super food! As we begin to understand more about the different types of fat we have learnt that some fats can actually be good. Virgin coconut oil is high in Lauric acid – a saturated fat believed to be healthier than most fats such as regular vegetable oils and spreads. It contains medium chain triglycerides or MCT s again now seen as less harmful than other fats – even beneficial in creating a healthy cholesterol profile.
What does this really mean to the ordinary user? Without getting carried away, too much of any type of fat in your diet is not good. That said, we still need a certain amount of fat in our diets and by choosing to use a natural, healthier option such as virgin coconut oil you should be doing your body some good. Remember, everything in moderation!

Why Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil?
There is no single, straight answer here and it really comes down to personal taste. As I said there are a few of the top brands all producing a similar quality of coconut oil product. Nutiva coconut oil ticks all the right boxes in terms of being certified organic, virgin cold pressed – which covers chemical free production methods – meaning you get a totally natural product free from chemicals and additives.
I use it mainly for cooking but also for hair treatment – in homemade shampoo recipes. For me – I just like Nutiva for its taste and smell and the fact that it is not too greasy in your hair. Of course with stuff like this personal taste is really the deciding factor between the different brands. There are other things that could sway you – price and value for money.
At first glance the top brands are similarly priced, usually about $12 to $16. Nutiva have three different sizes for sale – 15 oz, 29 oz and 54 oz and they sell each of these in multi-packs. If you check their prices for some of the bigger jars or the multi-packs you will get the cheapest cost per ounce. The savings can be quite significant and make Nutiva your best value option. The good news is that it can be kept for up to two years although I can’t see it lasting that long once you start to use it!
Why Listen to Me?
Well you don’t have to just take my word for it. Take a closer look on Amazon. Check some of the reviews and then look at the top, just below the product title where it gives a count of customer reviews. At the moment it is showing a very high rating and almost 400 personal reviews. This is very significant especially with a product that relies on personal tastes. Almost 400 people have felt strongly enough to write a review for Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil and surely they can’t all be wrong. Just something to think about but you should check it out for yourself.
