jericho911, I find this to be true of most collectibles, unless rare, I'm amazed as to the hype around some collectibles only to learn of the mere and low value. I have a great deal of card collections I hang onto due to the low ball value.

darkprinceofjazz is right on the money. Those cards in the photo are essentially worthless. I was very much into collecting from around 1980-1995 until i realized that a 10.00 card in the price guide would get you an offer of about 1.50 !!! very disappointing. It was enjoyable and relaxing as a hobby, but awful from an investment standpoint. Now, it's like a lottery, praying for the best of the 'chase" cards.

darkprince, Exactly, I agree for the love of baseball, the old, really old ones are the ones worth large amounts of money, it's for the fun of it in my opinion.

I loved collecting cards back then, before the graded and chase card craze, these cards in the photos were mass produced, and have minimal monetary value now, but that was the point, I collected for the fun of it, because I loved the game, when people starting asking how much that card was worth, I was finished with cards.

This is a great idea for a kid just getting into baseball, he or she can get these cards and look the players names up on baseball reference and learn all about their careers. I might have to get me some for old time sake.

This brings back memories. My two sons collected baseball cards. I wish they didn't have to grow up.
