Buying a Cordless Lawn Mower

If it is time to buy a new lawn mower, consider buying a cordless one.

Buying a new lawn mower is a big deal but if your old one needs too many repairs to make it work properly, maybe it is time to get another one. In my case I had a lawn mower for about ten years and it was already showing some wear and tear at the end of summer last year.

Well, unfortunately it was a little more serious than just some wear and tear and the mower has decided over the winter to pack it in. Since it was a gas lawn mower I was not really wanting to use it again anyway. These types of lawn mower are generally smelly, noisy and costly to run.

So given that the old machine gave up the ghost, it was time to do a little research and see what was out there in the way of quieter and less polluting machines.

After a whole bunch of research online and talking to friends and family members we decided on the WORX WG788 Cordless Lawn Mower.

First of all it is going to be way quieter and since it doesn't use either gas or oil, I won't have to worry about storing those fuels in the garage or having to make sure I have enough on hand when it comes time to mow the lawn.

Another thing about the cordless lawn mower that I like is that there is no cord or extension cord needed. I know people like those machines but I also know people who have unfortunately run over the power cord. As well I think they are restricting because you can only go as far as the power cord will let you.

I also like the fact that this particular machine has a removable and rechargeable 36-volt battery. It was recommended that we get an extra battery which I think is important if you have a really large yard since the battery will last for only one hour on a single charge.

Since we don't have a lot of room in the garage to store a lawn mower, this one has a collapsible handle so I can store it easily when it is not in use.

Reasons To Buy An Electric Lawn Mower
