The most popular temples of yore in Central India are the Khajuraho Temples. They are situated in the District of Chattarpur in the city of Khajuraho near Panna National Park. Chhattisgarh like Madhya Pradesh was a tribal heartland ruled by the dynastic Gonds. Many forts and palaces are found in the remote regions ruled by the Gonds.
Raipur is the Capital City but offers a wonderful stay in this ancient land. Besides business and trade, the city abounds in eateries, places of interest, and ancient monuments. Places worth a visit are the parks and temples some of which are historical. Madhya Pradesh has sound tourism infrastructure around the popular destinations, In the case of remote less visited places advance booking of rest houses and food has to be made. The roads to most of the destinations are good but banking facilities, markets, and access to health care may be available at the nearest big town.
Hotel accommodations in MP at popular places are excellent but one will need to book rest houses belong to the forest department or the PWD. Wildlife resorts at tiger reserves like Kanha, Bandhavgarh is well equipped for a stay for tiger safari.
Chhattisgarh at many places contains proper facilities for tourism. Parks like Sanjay Dubri, Achanakmar, Indravati, Kanha National Park near Mandla and Bandhavgarh are accessible from Raipur city. In order to travel from Chhattisgarh, Raipur hotels are ideal for accommodation. In remote regions rest houses belonging to the forest department and PWD provide accommodation but advance booking is required.
