Christmas Train Ornaments

by jptanabe

If you love Christmas trains, why not add a Christmas train ornament to your tree!

Christmas trains have somehow become an important part of Christmas. They appear in displays at stores and other public places; and model train sets are often placed around the tree in homes for the holidays.

If you don't have room for a model train set around your tree, why not get some Christmas train ornaments for your tree? There are crystal train ornaments, glass ornaments, and special "shatterproof" unbreakable ones that work better with young children, or perhaps cats, in the house!

"Santa's Christmas Train"

Ever wondered (I have) why we have Christmas trains complete with Santa and his presents? I mean, the Santa I know and love flies through the air on a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer! So where did the train come from?

This delightful book by Joseph J. Caro tells a wonderful story about the Christmas train tradition. Containing full color illustrations it is an uplifting story for the whole family.

Christopher Radko Glass

Christmas Train Ornaments

Christopher Radko has revived the almost forgotten art of European mouth-blown, hand-painted glass ornaments. It began when his own family's Christmas ornaments were shattered as the tree stand collapsed. Not only were the family memories irreplaceable, but Radko soon found that the ornaments themselves were very hard to find. So, he started his own business and began to create "memories in the making." This book presents the designs from the first fourteen years of his work.

Christopher Radko ornaments are truly special! It's not just their bright colors; they are truly works of art. Each Christopher Radko ornament is made of glass that is mouth blown and hand painted by skilled European artisans. The process takes a whole week! After inspection, the Radko charm and ornament crown are attached. Approximately one-third of Christopher Radko ornaments are retired each year, making them wonderful collectors' items!

Here are a couple of examples. Aren't they gorgeous?
