Citronella Dog Collar System

The Gentle Spray system comes with a handful of items:

Adjustable 24 inch nylon collar with a snap buckle
Spray device that can be turned on and off
Three ounce can of citronella spray
Alkaline six volt battery that powers the spray device
Instructions on how to implement the system with your dog

The battery and citronella spray can also be purchased separately. This is nice because these two items will need to replaced over the lifetime of the collar.

Citronella Bark Collar Reviews

You may be a bit suspect of how this system works, but many people have found success in stopping their barking dogs with a citronella collar. The distraction of the citronella smell is an effective deterrent to most barking dogs.

While the collar works well, there are a few complaints that occur often. First, the collar is made for medium sized dogs and larger, which means implementing it with a smaller dog is a bit of a chore. The 24 inch collar is quite big for smaller dogs so you may have to come up with a creative solution to fix the large size of the collar that is included in the package.

Second, there are many complaints against the durability of the spray device. It seems as though the unit is easily broken by aggressive dogs. You also need to remember to turn off the device when it is not in use or the battery will die quickly. Replacement batteries are relatively inexpensive, but the limited lifetime of the battery is a concern.
