Decorate a Child’s Room Disney Style

by blackspanielgallery

Children enjoy having their rooms become a happy place, and Disney decorations can get that atmosphere for a child's room.

Use a Disney Theme in Decorating

When decorating a child’s room, colorful Disney characters can really add a lot. Disney characters quickly become popular with children, and themes like Disney characters, Disney Cars, Disney Planes, Disney Princesses, and Frozen are just a few themes of many that can be used.

Disney characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald duck are always popular. Currently, Disney Frozen and the whole group of Disney Princesses are also favorites of small children. Disney Cars and Disney Planes are also currently popular.

Whatever Disney theme you can think of, there is likely to be enough decorating possibilities from the products available.

Start with the Walls

Use Wall Decals

Yes, wall decals are available in a great variety.  And wall decals offer the advantage over posters in that you do not have to make a hole in the wall.  They can be added, and when the child outgrows or tires of them, they can also be removed.

There are two ways to go with wall decals.  One way is to buy a package with many smaller pieces, which can be scattered where you like.  The other option is to get one or more huge decals, which really have a visual impact.

Wall decals can, if you desire, be added or removed seasonally, so adding a Disney Christmas scene will not look out of place in the summer when the beach scene has replaced it.

Of course, if you have a poster or two that your child really likes go ahead and display them.  After all, one or two small holes in the wall will be an easy repair.

Disney Bedding

Bring the Theme Through

Sheet sets and comforters can be found in the Disney motif, with a large variety from which to choose.  So, the bed can be used to carry on the decorative scheme, and make a child happy.  Of course, first ask which of the many possibilities will be most appreciated.  You do not want the wrong character.

Disney Night Lights

Brighten the Room Up

Find an appropriate Disney night light and add it to the room.  This detail is likely to well be worth the cost.  After all, making the child happy is the goal, and the night light is what is seen when a child awakens at night.  It is the source of comfort from the dark, and the child’s eyes are drawn naturally to it.

Light Switch Plate Covers

Disney Theme

A light switch may seem to be a small thing to you, but look at it through the eyes of a child.  That special touch may become a focal point, and that child might well point it out with pride when a visitor comes by.  Some little things take on a great importance.

Inexpensive Figurines

Decorate Flat Surfaces

Inexpensive figurines can be picked up, handled, and played with.  They should be inexpensive so they can be replaced if broken, but a hands on decoration will mean so much.  It is not just about eye appear to a child, and the cost often means nothing.  So, place some decorative Disney pieces on flat surfaces and allow the child to actually handle them.  Just have the child replace them when finished, always putting them back in their normal places.

Look for figurines here.

The important thing is to use what is important to a child. And, it need be easily changed as the child gets older and might have friends over. What teen wants to appear stuck at six years old to peers?

Lovely ideas for a child's bedroom. My daughter in law made an embroidered picture of Disney princesses for her daughter's bedroom. I had already got her the duvet. There are several charming ideas here. TY

Most things have a positive and a negative that must be weighed, and decisions are often made as to maximize the positive and minimize the negative. Hence we must think of things such as nail holes when hanging art,

blackspanielgallery, Thank you for pictures, practicalities and products.
In particular, I appreciate the decals, light-switch plate covers and night lights. As you mention, it's sad about how posters aren't competitive because of the holes they leave on the wall. Also, I worry about children bumping them and getting hurt by a poster that's framed falling down.
