You know that quote that anyone who can laugh at herself will never lack for entertainment?
Well, I'm entertaining myself right now! I've just figured out where the movie buttons are on my camera, but I haven't mastered them yet. Here's me trying to add a video of myself reading Fiona the Theater Mouse. I know it's a bit ridiculous. I'm in dire need of a haircut and I'm pretty sure I'm too close to the camera. However, I would appreciate any feedback. I've fubbed up a bit here and there, and I probably will redo the video altogether, but if anyone wouldn't mind giving me a few pointers, I'd appreciate it.

I didn't laugh and I don't have any pointers. I thought you did a fine job. Your voice is very sweet and calming and I can picture the kids all sitting in a semi-circle around you listening intently to the story of Fiona.
The history of your book is interesting too. Do your boys still act?

I loved it. I posted it to my fb page so I hope you get some more visitors to the article.
The charm in your video is that it is not professional. Leave it just as it is - I think the mother/grandmother in us all can identify with you and that makes your story come all the more alive.

Watching your video was the first thing I did this morning at 7:30. Although barely awake and in need of another cup of coffee, I was fascinated by your story-telling abilities, and I couldn't stop watching. Great job!
Don't forget to give your YouTube video a proper title and a good description with a link to your sales page.

Thanks, all of you, for your encouragement. I may try to redo the video at some point to make it better, but I don't have time right now. It really is a big job to promote a book!
Thanks for the reminder, Chef. This is the first video I've ever uploaded.

Dustytoes, one of my sons went to Bard College and majored in theater directing. He toured across North America with a puppet show a few years back. Then he studied acupuncture as a way to find an income and has found he really has a knack for helping people with their health issues. He loves the work. I think he hopes someday to integrate both areas into his life.
I have a niece that acts professionally, though. She often appears in Meredith, NH, in their shows.
