I really like it here, too. Wizzley aren't playing catch up, they have no crappy content to get rid of. Your emphasis on quality over quantity will pay dividends in the end. But that's just my humble opinion.
I wouldn't write here if I thought otherwise :)

Yes, quality before quantity will always work big time in my experience! SY

Adopted for the weekend. Spending Osterfeiern in Saarbrucken E-Werk venue with friends and fellow demo sceners. Just about to head to bed after a long and good day sightseeing and working on articles.
Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

I'll go wherever there is cake. Is there cake here?
As for the conversation in hand, I'm in a terminal state of panic most of the time. HollieT put it all into perspective for me earlier. Comparing March 2012 to March 2013, my traffic is eight times as much and my income has nearly trebled. Everything is moving completely in the right direction. (And yesterday I had a massive order, which I mentioned on the success thread. Today, I had another one.) Wizzley is steadily, but definitely growing for me.
Not putting all of your eggs in one basket sounds like very sensible advice. But the reality is exhausting. It's spreading yourself ridiculously thin; doing adequate work everywhere, instead of outstanding work in one place.
Yes, sites disappear. The internet changes at the speed of knots. But some bridges have to be faced when we get there. It's not worth nobbling yourself on maybes. If we could predict the future, then we'd all be rolling in it.
For my part, I'm running with Wizzley. There are other streams too, but Wizzley is where I've built my foundations. I'm certainly going to build on them.
As long as there's cake.

I haven't a clue what you are speaking about - but it sounds like fun! Enjoy! SY

Lol, Germans must be good for something, at least for being ex-husbands ;-) SY *Before anybody is offended, please note that I am German*

How about Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte? I make you one when you finally make it to Prague! Agree completely with the danger of spreading yourself too thin *says the woman with 20+ own websites* Just concentrate on writing would be my advice. Wizzley plus your own BOOKS should keep you focused and in earnings ;-) SY

I recognize that cake! It wasn't a lie! Yes, that would do nicely.
And that sounds like a plan to me.

@Sam, actually I've been married twice. But my German heritage ex-husband was definitely the better of two. In fact, we're still friends! How many other estranged couples can say that. :)

For those of you that don't know what Jo and I are speaking about, here a handy linky-link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Forest_cake
Ok Jo when you come to Prague I serve you Black Forest gateau and when I come to Britain you take me to a real working class breakfast place with (deep) fried English breakfast with all the trimmings. Deal? SY

I know a few that can, but only a very few. Glad to hear that you are still friend with a German ;-) SY

I do feel like I get the best of that bargain, but yes, that can be easily achieved. I'm good at eating Black Forest Gateaux.

And I do love and miss an (in)decent British deep fried working class cantine style breakfast. One of the highlights of living in Bristol was going to such a place. All deep fried, lots of sweet tea and cholesterol, not much that I miss about England, but the breakfast YES! SY

Total tangent, but is there actually a Black Forest where all this cake is coming from?
