updates on people we're fans of

When I set my account to 'Notify me of new pages by my favorite authors' I expected them to show up in my online backend. Instead it turns out I get them by email, which my email program interprets as spam. 

Given the amount of mail I get, I turned the feature off just now, right after I discovered this. 

I personally think that a weekly email is the highest frequency acceptable. However, a daily digest of new wizzleys out by our favorite authors is probably acceptable to many people as well. One mail PER new wizzley page really is too much IMO. 

Yes, I've turned my notifications off too, for the same reason.   My email program doesn't interpret the updates as spam, but I already get more email than I want.    A daily digest would be my preference.

Simon and Hans are currently working on this exact issue. I'm not sure how long it will take, but maybe within a week or two we'll be offering you a very nice solution.

Thanks, Chefkeem. I've been worried about this, too. I love to know when fans make a new page, but am overwhelmed with mail. You are all so quick to respond to suggestions. That's what makes Wizzley such a fun place to be!

Glad to hear that, Chef! I admit I've been hesitant to fan too many more people just because of the email notifications that come. (I know I can turn them off. I like getting them, but the number is overwhelming sometimes.)

 Now you can turn your notifications on again :-)

Well, to be honest, I get so much email that even if it didn't go to spam, an email like this would still go unread. There's a reason I wanted a WEEKLY digest.
