Fun Summer Activities for College Students

A day on the lake or river can equal fun for everyone.  Put on your sun block and swim suits and head out on the boat. Water skiing and tubing are both fun summer activities for college students and for the entire family.  Ask your friends to tag along for a truly fun experience.

Nothing is more fun during the summer than a get together involving food!  The summer time is perfect for outdoor barbecues.  Send out invitations to old friends from high school. Even if you have to host it at your parent’s house, a backyard barbecue can create memories that you will never forget. Include ice cream in the mix as a hot summer treat that everyone loves.

During the barbecue or any time during the summer, choose to play classic outdoor games with friends. Volleyball, badminton, and soccer are a just a few of the many classic games that can make summer fun.  Schedule a tournament and invite the entire neighborhood.  No summer is complete without playing classic summer games.

If you are out for the summer and don’t have an agenda, pack up and head to the beach.  The sand and the surf are a great way to add enjoyment to your summer. Perhaps you have a relative that you can stay with to help with the cost of the trip.  If you live near a beach, use this to your advantage!  Choose to spend your time on the beach at least a couple of days a week.  Invite your friends to come along. 

If you will be heading back to college during the fall, use the summer as the perfect opportunity to get in those volunteer hours that you need before graduation. Whether you choose to volunteer at a soup kitchen or at a local kids club, it will be fun! You will meet new people, have new experiences, and also get the mandatory volunteer hours out of the way during the summer. This can help you have a great summer and also make the next semester easier on you.  Make the most of the summer by volunteering!
