How to Make a White Russian With The Best Recipe Ever

The White Russian cocktail is one of the easiest cocktails in the world to make, and also happens to be one of the most popular, probably because of its sweetness, smooth texture and mellow after taste.

It is made using just 4 vital ingredients – Vodka, Coffee Lequeur, Light Cream, and ice. Of course with any recipe there are variations and it is quite acceptable when making a White Russian to choose from Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream, or Tia Maria as your Coffee Liqueur ingredient. You may even have a favourite of your own, and that will be quite OK to use as a substitute to test it out and see how it goes. You can even substitute the cream for milk, or vanilla soy milk or even goats milk.

Yet another popular version comes from our Irish friends who mix together one part Vodka and one part Kahlua, then add full cream milk and shake it vigously with ice before pouring the whole lot into a glass tumbler. 

Basically all you need to do is:

• pour your choice of Vodka and Coffee Liqueur over ice cubes (recipe below)
• add some light cream and give it a stir

Simple! Sometimes I think the best recipes are often the easiest to prepare and enjoy. Who wants to chase around all over town to locate a dozen different ingredients. Traditionally a White Russian drink is served in an old fashioned glass, as seen below. It has almost become unacceptable to serve a White Russian in anything else since Jeffrey Lebowski made it soar to dizzy heights of popularity in the 1998 movie ‘The Big Lebowski’

Here’s my favorite White Russian Recipe. You will need:

• 2oz of Vodka
• 1oz of coffee liqueur
• Light cream
• Ice cubes (or fancy shapes if you have a favorite ice making mold)

Pour into suitable glass, stir and enjoy!

White Russian cocktails are alcoholic drinks which are very ‘easy’ to consume, so please be aware that although they are very enjoyable, they contain a good deal of alcohol for their volume. That is to say that they are a strong drink and should be consumed with respect for their potency. Some people say that it is so much easier to become intoxicated whilst drinking cocktails than if you were drinking say beer or wine. 

Always be mindful of your guests’ state of intoxication. You should always serve alcohol in a responsible manner and never drink and drive.
