How to Clean the Keurig Reusable Filter
It's simple to clean the k-cup brewer reusable filter.
Simply rinse the mini filter clean under running water immediately after each use. This insures a great cup of coffee, hot chocolate or tea every time you brew.
After you've had your reusable filter for a while and notice it needs a more intense cleaning, simply submerge it into a cup of vinegar for 20 seconds or longer, depending on the need, remove, rinse with cool water and it should be as good as new. The same principle that applies to cleaning your coffee makers and personal brewers with vinegar applies to your reusable filter as well. Don't leave the filter in the vinegar as it can break down the filter if left unattended.
Enjoy the convenience and savings of the reusable filter. It's about time don't you think?

I still love the my Keurig
I love the reusable filters, we have use them when we first bought Keurig. The pos were too expensive and strong for us! Great information on the use and care of them!
katiem2, Is the life expectancy in months or years?
cazort, You and I agree on this issue BUT I sometimes want coffee and only drink one cup. An entire pot is just a waste and yet it doesn't turn out right often trying to make a small amount. I got one as a gift and never used the pre packaged cups but do use the reusable one for one cup of coffee using my own ground beans. I must admit I have to reusable cups and use one for coffee and the other for tea, using my loose leaf organic specialty tea. So I guess you could say I'm a convert.
I'm one of the people who was skeptical of Keurig and K-cups from the start. Not only do they seem expensive, but they seem wasteful from a packaging standpoint. As someone who nearly always brews my tea myself, from loose-leaf tea, they seem a move in the other direction away from gourmet coffee and tea and the coffee and tea culture of connoisseurs. This invention partly salvages the principle of a Keurig machine, for me. I think if I were going to have a Keurig, this would be a must-buy. But I'm still staying away from these machines: I like brewing things from scratch, whether it's coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or any other drinks I come up with!
Thanks, this is why I wrote this, after driving around to find one I thought WIZZ it! I love Amazon! Thanks for the purchase and enjoy! :)
I was looking for one of these at Wal Mart today, but they didn't have any. I thought: I bet I can find it on Amazon. I'm going to purchase through your article Katie.
Jeannieinabottle, Great Idea I'm sure they would appreciate it.
I've been seeing these in the stores and wondered about them. Thanks for sharing the info. I don't actually have a K-cup coffee maker, but we use one at work. Since I am there 5 days a week, I just use their machine all the time. I might get one of these filters for work.
Mira, This is so true, many leave it and forget about it till they want to use it again. This leaves the taste and residue of the last cup made and can alter the flavor and quality of the cup to be brewed. This is the best feature of the k-cups they are pure and fresh every time. The same cannot be expected using the reusable filter if it's not kept clean. :)
