How To Organize Your Makeup Stash

Why Should You Organize Your Makeup?

There are many reasons that you should organize your cosmetics. For one, makeup almost always comes with an expiration date. You don't want to use it past that date because it could cause a health problem. Using old makeup might cause you to end up at the doctor's office with a mystery rash.

messy makeup

Also, as you use cosmetics, you are transferring bacteria back and forth from your skin to the product. Often this is the cause of acne breakouts or other skin infections. If you can't shake a breakout, you may want to throw away the makeup you're using and start with new products once your skin clears up.

Yet another reason to organize your makeup collection is to save money and time. You may know that you have the perfect shade of red lipstick somewhere, but if you can't find it it's no good to you. You'll end up buying duplicates of things you already have if you can't find what you're looking for. In the long run, organizing saves you money.

Probably the best reason to organize your cosmetics just for looks. Have you ever walked into a bathroom and seen all kinds of makeup products everywhere -- in the sink, scattered across the counter top, everywhere. It looks awful, and is another way your makeup becomes contaminated with bacteria. An organized collection looks so much nicer (and neater) and your products will last longer when they're properly stored.
