Makita LCT300W 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 3-Piece Combo Kit Review
Buying a combo kit of cordless tools is often cost effective for the hobbyist or professional looking for new tools
If you are a plumber, electrician or other type of contractor in need some high quality cordless drilling tools, then you need to take a look at the Makita LCT300W 18-volt compact lithium-ion cordless 3-piece combo kit. This kits offers state of the art fastening, driving and drilling tools for professionals who need some high quality compact tools.
The kit comes with a 1/2-inch driver drill, an impact driver and a rechargeable flashlight. You also get two of the 18V compact batteries, a rapid charger for the batteries and a bag to carry everything around in.
The big advantage to the Makita LCT300W cordless 3-piece combo kit is that the price is cheaper than buying the drill and impact driver separately. If you need both tools, then this is the best deal for you with the added bonus of the flashlight. For users that have never used an impact driver before, you will be a convert once you try it out with some wood screws. It really excels with wood screws over using a regular drill.
The included BDF452HW model 1/2-inch driver drill is good for a variety of driving and drilling applications. You can drill in low speed up to 450 RPM or high speed up to 1,500 RPM. It might be compact, but it has a four-pole maximum torque motor with two different speeds. The included BTD142HW impact driver has the same motor. This impact driver might weigh just 2.8 pounds, but it is very powerful. Each tool fits comfortably in your hand thanks to an ergonomic grip. This is an important feature because it reduces user fatigue. Both tools also have a built in LED light, which great for those times when you’re on a job site that does not have adequate lighting. And if it is extra dark, you can always break out the BML185W model rechargeable flashlight, which has a bright Xenon bulb. The battery is great for tight spaces because the head pivots at four different positions.
As you use the tools in the Makita LCT300W cordless 3-piece combo kit, you will notice that you get longer life from the batteries than with the Ni-Cd battery models. In fact, you should get around 2,000 cycles with one battery charge, which is roughly 2.5 times more.
The best thing about these batteries is that it only takes 15 minutes to get a full charge. This is great when you have a lot of work to get done on your job site. And since the tools are cordless, you can easily move around the job site without have to lug around a cord, which you have to do if you have a corded tool. If you are a heavy duty user, the battery light might not be long enough for you. However, the quick charge time of the battery should be able to compensate for that.
