Monster Jam Party Games and Activities

The kids colored and painted cool Monster Trucks during my son's party.  The supplies needed for this craft include:

• White cardstock paper
• Crayons and/or Markers
• Black Paint
• Paper Plate
• Sponge
• Stamps and other embellishments (optional)

Print out the monster truck template here onto white cardstock or construction paper for each of the party guests.   Set the monster trucks on the table with crayons, markers, stickers, etc.  We also set out a skull stamp to go with the Grave Digger theme.

The kids can color and decorate their monster trucks.  Once they are done, they can dip the wheel sponge into black paint to create the monster wheels.  To make the wheel shape out of the sponge, I simply cut it into a circle shape and created a hole in the middle.  You could also use a cruller doughnut or bagel to make your monster wheels.

I found these free Monster Truck coloring sheets at Frecklebox.   You can personalize the coloring sheets for each of the party guests.  Once you know who will be attending the birthday party, you simply go in and add the names and print out the sheets.

The coloring sheets have an image of a Monster Truck getting some "good air" over a bunch of cars.  The boys really liked these coloring pages and loved the fact that their name was on it.

Another idea would be to place the customized Monster Jam crayon boxes I have featured below on the table with the coloring sheets.

Party Note:  These coloring sheets and crayons would also make a fun and inexpensive party favor.  Simply personalize the coloring sheet and wrap it around a box of Monster Jam crayons or regular crayons.  Then tie with curling ribbon and attach a thank you card.

The Monster Jam Activity Placemats were a fun party activity for the boys.   Each placemat included a word search, word scramble and a Monster Match.

The word search and Monster Match were not too difficult for the boys, but the word scramble was a bit more challenging for a 7 year old.  The good thing is that each of the boys took there activity placemats home with them and were able to complete the more difficult actvities with the help of their parents.

The front of the placemat features Monster Mutt Dalmatian flying high over some cars in a Monster Jam arena.

We also placed a Monster Truck maze on the table for the kids to do. 

Grave Digger is one of the most popular Monster Trucks in Monster Jam.  Therefore, this Grave Digger pinata was a big hit at the party.

The Monster Jam pinata measures approximately 16.5"L x 14"H x 9.75"W.  You can choose to purchase a pull-string attachment or hit the pinata with a stick.   We filled the pinata with quality candy including Skittles and snack sized Hershey bars, Kit Kats and Whoppers.  I wouldn't recommend purchasing those pinata filler candy assortments.  They usually include low quality candy.  

It was a nice day, so my husband hung the pinata on a tree outside.  Beforehand, we had written the names of each of the boys on the Monster Jam loot bags we had purchased for the pinata activity.  This way when it was pinata time, we just handed the boys their loot bags.

My son has the Grave Digger remote control monster truck.  We set up an area with matchbox cars, Monster Trucks, orange cones and Monster Jam ramps.  The kids took turns driving Grave Digger around the "arena" crashing into things and trying to jump ramps.  My son also has close to 30 Monster Jam trucks and we set those out as well for the kids to play with during the birthday party.  You could also create an obstacle course for the kids to complete with their monster truck.

Photo stand-ins and tattoos also make wonderful party activities. 

There is a Monster Jam Stand In that would be great for your birthday party.   This large cardboard Grave Digger stand in measures 46" W x 41" H.  The kids will love taking their photo as Grave Digger's driver and they will also enjoy watching the other kids taking their photo.  These photos can also double as thank you cards.

Tattoo stations are also a nice idea for a kid's birthday party.  Depending on how many guests are at the party, you will need one or two adults to apply the tattoos.   The kids will have fun selecting their tattoos and checking out the finished tattoo on their arm. There are a nice assortment of Monster Jam Tattoos available including Grave Digger, Blue Thunder, El Toro Loco and Monster Mutt.
