The Three Most Terrifying Video Games In The World!

"Amnesia: The Dark Decent" is the scariest game on the planet! This is due to it's consistantly dark atmosphere, and monsters you cannot defend yourself from. The only way you can hope to survive Amnesia, is to hide in dark corners then evade the monsters that will patrol that area. Now if you don't like not being able to kill monsters in games, this is almost certainly not for you as you simply can't do it! Also attempting to kill monsters by throwing objects at them, results in them running at you with incredible pace! You'd have no chance then...

But it's not all about the monsters in this game... The actual story of the game is truly disturbing, and some of the things that are described are extremely vile. So because of this, and the fact that the monsters look grotesquely disfigured, I woudn't give this to a 13 year old or under.

A useful thing to mention, is that there are several times through-out the game, where you must complete certain puzzles to unlock your memories of your past... These puzzles can be very challenging at times, and can leave players frustrated or reluctant to continue playing. I highly recommend that when you get stuck at a part on this game, you either check on YouTube for a walkthrough, or you constantly check every room for clues. However as you will find by the end of the game; all is not how you would expect it! But will you work it out? 

Penumbra Black Plague from what I have achknowledged, was made by the same people who made Amnesia. But this time our setting is in a cave infested with scary, blood thristy aliens who obviously don't like you very much by the way they attempt to kill you... This game is almost as scary as Amnesia, and will have you leaping out of your seat from time to time. However all those screams are worth it, as this game really does have a good story line!

So just incase you're quite curious about the plot of the game, this is basically what happens through-out the game...

1. After entering a cave to discover your father's past in the last game, you wake up in a mysterious room thinking you had died. (In the previous game you were attacked by a strange figure you couldn't quite make out.)
2. You escape, desperate to get away from the things that concealed you in the room. (Who also attacked you!)
3. You discover that these things were "aliens" which consistantly patrol the area in search for you, and if you're found they will chase and kill you!
4. Later your brain is invaded by one of those aliens, which keeps on talking to you and making you see things which aren't there... (But sometimes can still hurt you I think...)
5. You find the cure to vanquish the alien inside your head, and then the other aliens kill alien who got inside your mind.
6. The game then ends with you on the boat which you were on in the first game, thinking that all that had happened was just a dream...

While there are still many other aspects to this game, I'll leave you to find them out for yourself. I really don't want to give too much away about this brilliant game!

Now there is another two games in the Penumbra series, however this one is by far the absolute scariest! The last one in the series is a total let down, because it's more about the puzzles than giving you a scare... 

The Silent Hill game series have always been especially horrifying to play, in fact it got to the point in Silent Hill two where I was too scared to carry on!

However for all of you brave enough to stand up to this game and conquer it... Good luck to you! You're really going to need it...

Now eventhough I haven't put this game first on the list, at times it's close to being as scary as Amneisia. But Amneisia still wins, as it's even more scary to know you can't hurt the monsters, so you are forced to hide wherever you can to get away from them!

Some other importan information about this game, is how there are short scenes within the game which are strongly filled with adult content. So absolutely nobody under 13 should play this! Unless you want your children to be scared for life, because of this completely grotesque game...

Like Amnesia and Penumbra, there are a few puzzles which can be solved by observing everything very carefully. Although there are some puzzles which were actually too challenging for me, so I hope you are intelligent enough to work them out! 

So overall this is one hell of a scary game, and if you like this game there are a few more in the series for you to try! However I must admit that I think this one is scariest, as there are some incredibly gothic scenes in this game that you'll never forget... Especially at night!
