Product Description: Pre-packaged instant mashed potatoes from the Honest Earth brand. I purchased a 14-pack of these mashed potatoes for $9.99 while shopping at Costco this past weekend. I prepared a package of these potatoes last night, following the microwave oven instructions, and served them with some chicken legs I prepared.

Review
When my wife and I stopped at Costco this past weekend, we were primarily there to pick up a short list of items we needed. However, as is usually the case, we ended up picking up quite a few additional non-list items. This included a box containing 14 packs of Honest Earth Creamy Mashed Potatoes.
This purchase was primarily made for our kids. They like instant mashed potatoes and, at less than $1 per package, we decided it was a good deal. My wife and I, however, usually aren't huge fans of instant potatoes and did have our overall expectations set pretty low. As it turns out, these were actually very good.
I made some chicken legs (also purchased from Costco) for dinner last night and had planned on using a bag of red potatoes as a side dish. However, as it turns out, the potatoes had gone bad and, when I mentioned I needed a side dish, my wife reminded me of this purchase. I ended up preparing these instant potatoes while her and our youngest daughter were at skating practice and was very impressed.
First of all, these were very easy to make. All I had to do was bring some water to a boil in our microwave then add milk, butter and a packet of the potatoes. In total, it took maybe 5 minutes to make these and something like that, in itself, is a big plus on nights when we don't have as much time.
As far as taste goes, the potatoes more than exceeded my expectations. As I mentioned, I'm not a big fan of instant potatoes, mostly because they just don't taste as good as fresh-made. I won't say these were an exception to that. But, they were definitely very close. They came out creamy rather than dry and didn't have the same powder-like taste many other brands have.
I was also impressed with the quantity in that little package. I was skeptical when it said it made 8 servings. But, we had quite a few potatoes left over following dinner so the 8-serving claim seems to be very accurate. And, considering we already purchased these potatoes at a very reasonable price, the ability to get more than one meal out of a package definitely improves that value even more.
Final Opinion
This was a purchase I had a mixed opinion about when I made it. However, after trying the potatoes last night, I do feel I got a great product at a great price. It's a brand of instant potatoes I would recommend.

StevenHelmer, Thank you for product lines, pretty pictures and practical information.
Boxed potatoes as competitive as they can be with fresh potatoes are products that I appreciate knowing about. Don't you think that they could extend fresh mashed potatoes if one discovers meal guests more than expected or if one doesn't have enough leftovers for a serving but doesn't want to waste good food? (I'm not sure what wildlife eats leftover mashed potatoes!)
