Product Description: Specialized container from the Rubbermaid brand that advertises special “fresh vent” technology to keep produce fresher longer. I purchased a 3-pack of these containers at Costco while doing some routine grocery shopping with my wife. I started using the containers that same evening.
Review of Rubbermaid Fresh Works Produce Saver
I purchased this product while shopping at Costco. Read to find out what I thought of it.
I’ve been making an effort to eat healthier and, as part of that, have been taking fresh fruit to work with me both for breakfast and as an afternoon snack. My fruit of choice is grapes, both because I like them and because they are convenient.
Since grapes are kind of pricey at our local grocery stores, I’ve been buying them, in bulk, whenever we make our bi-monthly trip to Costco. However, while I’m usually able to get a good deal (5 pounds for what it normally costs me for 2 pounds), I’ve had a problem with the grapes starting to spoil before we could eat them all.
This is why, during our last shopping trip, I ended up purchasing a pack of three Rubbermaid Fresh Works Produce Savers. And, after using them, I can honestly say they were well-worth my money.
I put one of these produce savers to work shortly after coming home from the store and filled it with the grapes I purchased. So far, at least, it is living up to the advertised expectations.
Prior to making this purchase, I would buy grapes and, while they would still be edible, there would be signs of them starting to spoil a few days after purchasing, typically starting with the grapes getting softer than they were when we bought them and one or two getting some mold (this is, incidentally, what I experience whenever I buy grapes at our local grocery stores too).
Since using the Produce Saver, I have not had this problem. The grapes are still as fresh as when I put them in there and I haven’t noticed any difference, either taste or texture wise, from when I was eating them right out of the package. In fact, I’m relatively confident I’ll be able to get through the whole 5 pound package of grapes long before I have to worry about throwing them in my composter. I definitely can’t complain about that.

StevenHelmer, Thank you for practical information, pretty pictures and product lines.
It's always upbeat to hear about a product that does its job, lasts and looks good. This solves the problem of having grapes loose in the bottom produce drawer or in their store bag.
Would you all happen to know of an environmentally friendly way to clean these produce-saving containers? I'd like to keep them looking like they do when I bought them.
They might end up being Christmas presents this year.
These sound like something that we can use, thanks for the review
