Things to Do With Kids on a Snow Day

by KDB

Hoping to share some good, entertaining and mostly inexpensive ideas to amuse your children on those crazy buses-no-running-kids-at-home-snow-days.

I'm sure we could all use a little help and encouragement on those SNOW DAYS when we are blindsided by children who are NOT at school but rather at home mom-ing or dad-ing us every five minutes with the usual, "I'm bored. I have nothing to do!" Hopefully I can share some interesting and maybe even educational amusements for the kiddies!

Things to DO Outside

If the reason they are home is because of a snow dump and the buses couldn't run because the roads haven't been plowed yet but the sun is out and it is not too cold there's no reason why they can't take advantage of the day off to play outside in the snow!

So....

make snow angels
build a snowman
build a snow fort
dig pathways in the snow
slide down the hill a few times (if you have one)
help mom or dad shovel the driveway
paint the snow (squeezable bottle with food colour and water mix)

I loved this list!
Definitely using it when we are snowed in. Hey, we also use a couple of other sites for our kids to safely play online games. here they are:

Winter themed movies - that's another good one on your list. I had never thought of that.
Again - thanks!
