Topeak Mini 20

Art and functionality blur the lines in this 20-function tool. It's all metal body puts it as a frontrunner in bike multitools

The world of bike multi-tools is a never ending and always changing with new offerings always being brought to the table.

Topeak has a wide array of multi-tools for every type of cyclist to choose from. The Mini-20 focuses on strength and simplicity and is geared towards the cyclist who appreciates a bike tool for what it can do best.

Here's a closer look.

Structurally Strong. Spiritually Sound.

Ok, so I am getting a little carried away with the artistic aspect of this tool, but, just look at it!  It has very simple lines and such a quiet demeanor about it.

But art won't fix your bike, and thankfully, Topeak made the Mini 20 a very functional tool.

The best thing about the Topeak Mini 20 is that it is entirely hardened metal. A lot of the other Topeak tools use plastic for their low-stress areas.

A fully metal tool can just give you greater confidence that it will be able to hold up to the stresses of daily riding and repair.

The Mini 20 has a great idea behind its structure:  the tools themselves are compact and stubbly, using the handle to provide most of its length and leverage.

Even though they were trying to keep the tool light and minimalistic I was pleased to see that they had kept the chain break tool.  For mountain bikers that tool can be so essential.

Really, theirs only a couple things that are missing from this tool when compared to Topeak's top sellers, the Alien II and Alien III.  That would be the box end wrenches and the knife.  So you might want to carry a good pocket knife with your.

The box end wrenches are something that you would probably use only rarely. In fact, I normally rode with an even more minimal tool.  However, I can understand how some people would like having those box wrenches along

And, did I mention that it is very light weight?  For the weight conscious individual, this tool gives you the max potential with the least weight.

Plus, its all metal construction lets you really crank down on those bolts without worrying about breaking it.  It's a reassuring feeling

The bottom line?

For the money, The Topeak Mini 20 has everything you will really need. It's super strong and designed to last.  Check it out!
