One of the most interesting trends in the wedding industry in the last few years, has been the introduction of vintage and antique additions to most phases of the wedding. The biggest addition has been the inclusion of vintage and antique wedding gowns, veils, and wedding hats as the bridal wardrobe.
It has long been a tradition of brides to wear the family heirloom wedding dress in their wedding, possibly the wedding dress of their mother or grandmother, or another close relative. However, if a bride did not have a dress in their family, most brides would then go out and buy a brand new wedding gown to be married in.
This trend has not gone away, but increasingly, for many reasons, brides are turning to vintage wedding apparel to fill their needs for a beautiful, unique wedding gown for their special day.

wonderful article!!
Good info. I love just about anything antique, so if you must get married, why not search for an antique dress.
At my age, I couldn't help but have a vintage wedding - a real old vintage wedding, that is.
That is a lovely idea, Bev.
Another trend I have seen for weddings is the Bride choosing vintage brooches for her bridesmaids to wear and then keep as a gift from her. Some will wear them as a traditional brooch and others place them on the sash or belt of the dress.
