Weddings On A Budget
Tips for planning a wedding on a budget.
Planning A Wedding On A Budget
An expensive wedding is beautiful but costly. Budget weddings can be just as beautiful. Planning a wedding on a small budget doesn't mean you have to have a cheap wedding. It just means that you have to be a little creative in your planning. I've attended weddings that cost over $100,000. and I've been to weddings that cost under $5,000. To be honest, I had more fun at the weddings that cost under $5,000. There seemed to be more personal touches and creative, unique ideas at the less expensive weddings. The focus of the budget weddings were on the bride and groom rather than the thousand of dollars it cost to fill the wedding reception hall at the $100,000. wedding. I've been to weddings that had very expensive wedding favors on the table, but I enjoyed the candy buffet more at the less expensive wedding. A candy buttet that the bride's sisters put together themselves. One of my favorite weddings was a redneck wedding. I had more fun at that wedding than any other wedding I ever attended. Now, I'm pretty sure you are not here to plan a redneck wedding, so let's get on with some other budget wedding ideas.
Wedding Budget Spreadsheet
The most important thing to planning a wedding on a budget is to set a budget and stick to it. A wedding budget spreadsheet is essential to helping you stick to your budget. On your wedding budget spreadsheet, list everything that you plan to spend money on, from the photographer to party favors. This will give you a visual to the amount of money you expect to spend and what you actually spend.
More Ways To Save On A Wedding

This will be cheaper than shopping in the bride section. If you do plan to wear a white dress, consider purchasing a used one. Most brides only were their wedding dress once, so the used ones are usually in pretty good condition. If you don't want a used wedding dress, shop for your wedding dress at a wedding discount store. Well, you could always wear your moms old wedding dress for tradition. It's free too!

Wedding Food and Drinks - Buffets are the cheapest way to go. If you have an open bar, close it an hour before the wedding ends.
Wedding Favors - Instead of purchasing expensive wedding favors, set up a candy buffet for your guests to enjoy. Place some cello bags on the table so they can take some candy home. Purchase the candy at a wholesale candy store.
Wedding Flowers - Flowers are not the only way to set a scene in a room. Replace the flowers with balloons. Balloons can transform a place for a fraction of the cost. You could also have your wedding at a garden location where there are already lots of beautiful flowers.
Honeymoon - Create a honeymoon registry or check with friends and family to see if anyone owns a vacation rental that you can stay in. Use travel discounts that are available on Internet. If you have frequent flyer miles, use them. Plan your Honeymoon during the off-season when travel and hotel stays are cheaper.
