Most pool parties are quite casual. Therefore, whatever you wear will most likely be casual. Also, you must consider if you are going to swim or not. This will affect not only your hair but makeup and what you wear as well. I have been to a few pool parties where no one got into the pool. That was kind of a bummer since there wasn't much fun to be had. Other than standing around talking. I would say that most invitations will tell you what kind of party it is. They will tell you to bring your bathing suit and towel if there is swimming going on. If you are swimming then this outfit is the easiest of all to accomplish. All you have to do is wear a stylish cover up and you have it taken care of.

There are a couple of things to consider when picking out your outfit for the up and coming pool party.
Swimming and Still Looking Good
If you are swimming wear a very stylish cover up over your bathing suit as your attire for the party. Flip flops or sandals would work great. It might not hurt to wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet. It does happen. All of this attire fits right into what is going on and not too much thought is required. Your cover up should cover up most of your body. I would not get too skimpy unless you know these people really well.
Your hair should be as natural as possible (meaning not a lot of hairsprays or gels) and I would only wear waterproof mascara and lip gloss. The mascara should stay on even after a dip in the pool. You can reapply the lip gloss if needed.
Tube Dress / Cover up

Sarong Cover up

Halter Dress
A very stylish cover up with a v neck line and soft lightweight material. This would look really good with silver jewelry around the neck. Just remove before getting into the pool.
Havaianas Flip Flops
The party would not be complete without the best rubber flip flops in the world. These flip flops are so comfortable and last forever. Something as simple as this would look great with your cover up and swim suit.
