Lazarus Syndrome-- When the Dead Come Back to Life
I also do not understand how the brain can survive without damage from lack of oxygen. It's one of the puzzling attributes to lazarus syndrome that this does not occur. Mira, that is quite interesting! I would love to read that article.

Samovars
Yes, an old samovar would be a great collectors item - especially one that still works!

Ah thank you and yes. It is very beautiful but also easily accessible to most walkers. Our grandson walked up to the top.
The air is so clean and crisp. I love going especially in Autumn.

The post World War 2 kitchen
It is interesting that despite the war being over for 70 years, this page gets so many visitors. I think WW2 is still very much alive in some ways.
Maybe that is a good thing ? I have added a POLL above.

You can still get corned beef tinned and at the delicatessen counter.
It isn't my food of choice but I would eat it if I were given it.

It was called bully beef over here I think but I didn't eat much of it as a child.
It was certainly very popular in WW2 but maybe that's why I don't recall it much in my 60's childhood.

Corned beef was a wartime staple that survived for many years. We often had it for lunch in the 1950s. You don't get it these days, though I still like it and would eat it again.
You can eat many foods if you want to. In wartime my father ...
